Are you not immersed like never before thanks to these apples?

their shiny fidelity distracts from the dusty boring books and draws your attention onto grand vistas. Unnecessary details (bite marks) help to keep your mind busy...obviously no human made that bite...so much depth and better entertainment then any other AAA fruit on the market.

"the team are already seeing a level of immersion not seen in other narrative-driven games"

I m sure there are one or two (older, probably 8bit) games that dont have that level of immersion. No doubt the average SC drone will instantly translate this marketing line with "BEST IMMERSION EVER" tho.

Not the first time I quote these lines from the movie The Prestige, but more relevant to this mess than ever:
Every great magic trick consists of three parts or acts.

The first part is called "The Pledge". The magician shows you something ordinary: a deck of cards, a bird or a man. He shows you this object. Perhaps he asks you to inspect it to see if it is indeed real, unaltered, normal. But of course... it probably isn't.

The second act is called "The Turn". The magician takes the ordinary something and makes it do something extraordinary. Now you're looking for the secret... but you won't find it, because of course you're not really looking. You don't really want to know. You want to be fooled. But you wouldn't clap yet. Because making something disappear isn't enough; you have to bring it back.

That's why every magic trick has a third act, the hardest part, the part we call "The Prestige".

Can't wait for the prestige. I bet Sandi and Erin have already started this act... :)

It's disappointing that the apples are all whole. This was a missed opportunity to show the remnants of an apple someone has eaten, so we could finally see they are nailing down the core design of the game play. As to immersion - other games utilise the pips - where is this game play? Shortly we will be seeing a fairground where apple bobbing is a feature for intrepid spaceman and an opportunity to enhance foip after the bobbing is done so that we see wet faces. Of course then we will need towels and bathroom facilities. Ah wait we already have that - so the potential for a complete game play loop.

Look again, the one at the front has had a bite taken out of it. Take that you FUDster! CIG are way ahead of the curve in fidelitous apple development.

I seem to remember mech suits being talked about- where did they go?

Plus, how is Tow fitting into the 'vision'? Is it an amalgamation of Star marine or its ultimate form?

Just assume anything announced/released for SC is like a wave amongst the others in CR waving hands.

You got me, still it's not exposed the pips or core! I thought it was part of the paper! Odd teeth marks as well - Aliens at work!
