Nicely spotted!
So if Triton is the first part of the puzzle, how do we get the permit??
I have long suspected that FD are using permits to 1) slow us down and 2) highlight systems.
I read somewhere once that mother gaia has put the permit lock there. ( Clearly not fdev as everyone thinks lol jk). Maybe somehow from then you could get it? Im going to look for the source for this.

Edit: first result...
Triton was first discovered by the British astronomer William Lassell on 10 October 1846, just 17 days after Neptune was discovered by the German astronomer Johann Gottfried Galle and Heinrich Louis d'Arrest. Triton is permit-locked by the minor faction Mother Gaia.

But I’ve been allied with Mother Gaia for a while & not been offered it. There must be something in addition, perhaps Fed ranking?

Here, give it a go.

Strange thing, as I dropped into the 'hidden' belt a Search and Rescue anaconda appeared. And kept insisting on keeping me safe, circling me at ~2km. I moved and it moved with me.
It stayed for about 7-8 minutes or so.
I did not notice anything else peculiar with it though. No communication in local.

EDIT: Ehm, while writing this post; 7-10 minutes after the Conda jumped out another Search & Rescue appeared. This time an ASP. Is this normal?
I've been idling in space in quite many times & locations, but never been randomly visited by Search & Rescue like this.
Perhaps it's new due to the system status in Sol. Hm alright.

I had the same S&R ship behaviour when I was looking for Cupid & Bellinda in the roid belts at Uranus. Sol is definitely looking a little peculiar.

You can target the asteroids between Mars and Jupiter
First mark them as a favorite, and from the favorite trace route.

The bad news is that destiny is within the Sun

Any volunteers to get in there? :sneaky:

This jogs my memory-asteroid belt appearing inside the sun - it's the same bug I reported 3 or 4 years ago!!

mmm, major bug in Sol, humanity's birthplace & they haven't fixed a major bug in the system in 3-4 years??
Something is smelling very fishy!;
& no, I don't have a cargo hold at the moment! ;)

The point is that as we cannot target it, we're most likely dropping on the Asteroid Belt "Region", not at the center of it... and as I wrote before, the area is a disc about 600ls in diameter... so, quite a big area to cover... x3 because I found at least 3 of these Asteroid Belt locations.

Ah yes, I agree, a huge area to search even if we stood a chance of finding it (which I currently doubt until we've reached some unknown threshold);
however I misunderstood what your previous post - I thought you had found a rock there! :)

Agree. And it seems that the innermost part (closer to mars orbit) appears to give better hits and show the cluster-icon.
However if all the belts appear inside the sun, while having a location out in the belt I suspect it's still bugged.
There's a big chance the triggers (if any) for 'stuff' is also linked to the bugged state inside the Sun. 🤔

Been allied for ages (1-2 years), nothing out of the ordinary. Had a good nice personal mission yesterday, seek out a strange signal over at 90482 Orcus.

Scanned a beacon at an outpost and received a followup mission (by the Federal Congress) to kill a particular elite pirate in another system, ~7mill credit.
Nice short story, I did like the format of it however these mission comes at a regular pace it seems.
