The Noobifier's Carrack tour...all done at walking pace for a change.

That ... is a large ship

So what is the idea - you will have human crew running around doing stuff I guess? Gotta make use of all the rooms 🤔

I bet there will be some ED players who like the idea of heading up in an elevator to go scan some planets, where others will be nope-ing out pretty hard :D

It's designed as a muticrew ship...even with most of the functions not implemented. You can quite happily fly it solo, a bit like the Caterpillar and other big ships, but I've found loading the little Pisces snub ship a huge pain solo since it means leaving the hangar door open whilst you go fetch the Pisces, the door controls are inside. They're planning to update the ship terminals at some point to allow spawning the ship with parasite craft loaded up...like soon ™.

There's also no pilot controlled forward firing weapons or missiles....a bit of a loot pinata if you're faffing about on your lonesome at the end of the day.

I like the Carrack...as much as it's very broken at the moment...we'll see what this new PTU patch produces by way of sorting some of the bugs out. There's certainly enough for them to get to fixing before it's live release

Some times you‘ve got to see things in perspective. fdev worked long and hard to get Elite working. What we got was a barebones version. I don’t feel like complaining when it gets to Star Citizen. In my eyes, the game is evolving pretty good. They are getting there, it’s ing complicated what they are trying to achieve.

🤣 I feel inclined to offer you a recommendation for a good optometrist. What they're trying to achieve doesn't really matter in light of what they've shown themselves actually capable of achieving or the pace of that sad level of achievement.

And if you want to see things in perspective…

Wait ... you're not really suggesting fdev worked "long and hard" on Elite Dangerous ... from 97?

Unfortunately some backers took that award and ran with the idea that ED was in development for years before SC.

The most extreme case of delusion i saw was from one backer who was seriously suggesting FD started work on ED before Frontier: First Encounters was released.

FD went from zero to barebones release in around 2-3 years. CIG still have to make a product worthy of being called a barebones release after 9 years (since they, in CR's own words, started work on it in 2011).

You can, if you like, start harping on about how CIG had to build a studio, etc, but then, that doesn't gel with CR saying they could deliver the game in 2014-2015 after just 2-3 years working on it.

Exactly, he says its done in "poor taste" and unfortunately I fully agree
Don't get me wrong...I wasn't being politically correct or sensitive there. The very notion that some strange Flat earther launched himself from a ski ramp bolted onto the back of a pickup truck whilst sitting inside what was little more than an explosive bathtub to help prove a ridiculous theory that contradicts every scientific notion for the last 600 years is just a bit comical...besides losing his life attempting to reinforce the silliness of course.

If he had perhaps paid more attention during maths or physics at school, he could have saved himself the foolhardy and ultimately fatal trip and simply worked out that his flat earth theory was nuts all on paper without leaving the ground....besides, we all know that the earth can't possibly be flat, if it were...cats would have knocked everything off the edge by now ;)
