Having backed the game in kickstarter, I have been playing now for six years.
In that time I have hit most of the high points offered in the game and now find myself spending more time on the forum than in the game itself.
Most of the changes to the game have left me somewhat disappointed and now with the departure of Micheal Brookes and Paige Harvey, as well as the lack of lore, the dissappearence of galnet, GG's and Interstellar Inititaves and changes to the ADS, I find myself without the desire to play.
I am now Elite, having 3.5Bcr. and most of the ships I want, painted and engineered the way I like, the allure of the game seems lackluster in playstyle.
As well, with griefers and gankers ruining some of my game experiences and those using cheats, bots and trainers contributing to this mayhem and Frontiers lack of community communication on any front leaves me uninterested in playing at all now.
The next major update with the introduction of Fleet Carriers, at least for me, is nothing more than a mobile parking lot with a greater jump range and does not contribute anything to the gameplay, lore, or enhancement features of Elite. It may be fun for some, but aside from parking my ships on a mobile platform does not really interest me in the least.
If Frontier were to introduce things like Atmospheric landings or Space Legs with proper implementation, I might be more interested in playing again. If the Elite lore from the 1984 game were continued and introduced into the game properly, I might take more of an interest in a further investment of my time in what the game still has to offer.
On the whole, I have moved on to other games to fill my gameplay interest. As of this date, I have parked my ships with little interest in doing much until the new era arrives and will reevaluate my gameplay at that time.
