Your last enjoyable Elite activity?

I've been engineering and outfitting three AX vessels. I'd not even seen a Thargoid until very recently; so, I'm opening up that side of the game. Good fun and definitely a "place" to hang out for a bit. I've also found that I need some light mining vessels for quick jaunts, so I've been kitting out an Asp Scout and an Asp Explorer for that role and have been out testing and refining those. Whilst I've been doing that I've also been gradually upgrading an assortment of other vessels and taking stock of my fleet of ships and wondering which ones to take on the soon-to-exist Fleet Carrier.
There's also plenty of new Squadron members to meet and some writing, video editing and planning.

I set my Conda to -Y drift and slowly descended downwards into a lagrange cloud. It was like falling into the atmosphere of a Gas Giant. it gradually got darker the deeper i fell, the stars vanishing over the rim of the cloud cup until i was finally surrounded by complete black and silence. I imagined some monster in the deep, a gravity well or massive object lurking in the blackness, waiting to grab hold of my ship and pull me down to my doom.

But alas.... nothing like that exists in the game so it was complete pretend on my part. But for a wee moment i felt a spat of Wonder and fear.

Was musing with my old guild buddy the other day and we got to chatting about ED again.
We both came to the realisation that the last thing we had both enjoyed was participating in DW2.
Even more disturbing was that since DW2 finished last summer we had only been online together in Elite on two occasions!

Anyone out there finding fun stuff to do?
i am enjoying the new exploration and trying to fill out my codex

actually just made my way to the guardian ruins for the fourth or fifth time now. this time it's actually day which makes things easier and less scary. i still really enjoy it though. it does still take a while to get there and because of that time investment, you really don't want your srv destroyed. i like that you really have to care to not get destroyed. who knows what's going to happen when you're not careful. before you know it, you spend half the freaking night... not sure if anyone gets that reference.

Enjoyable and ED - in the same sentence, you have to joking right. Since when has this game been enjoyable, all one has to do is read the forums to know that no one likes the game, those that play it are physically forced to do so by DBOBE himself and anyone who says otherwise is lying and secretly Chris Roberts.

What a load of biowaste I just sprouted although I think this thread isn't getting the responses the OP was hoping for.

My last truly enjoyable moment in the game, well that caused me to ponder for a few minutes while I infused copious amounts of coffee into my bloodstream. I guess what happened last night, on one of my final sorties of the day. Without realising it I had reached Admiral in Fed and Earl in Emp at the same time, both promotions missions popped at together and strangely both at the same system. One was kill a pirate lord and the other was a straight delivery mission. Accepted them both, easily completed them both and was rewarded with both promotions on the same flight. Yep that did make me smile :D

Mostly out of game stuff like writing a code to do the thargoid link triangulation, or mess around with the edsm data seeing if anything interesting can be found in the locations or names of the systems etc.

In game I have been messing around with wacky builds to accomplish various random tasks. (like soloing wing mission uss in a krait, or ax combat etc)

LOL. Takes all kinds. I love the new mechanics. Feels like actually being a miner. I hunt contracts that pay well and then fill up with whatever I think I can sell for the rest of the cargo. I can be safe and take Platinum, Osmium, or roll the dice on Painite,VO or LTD. Makes more than I can on just bland mission cargo running and more interesting to me than “go shoot pirate named $pirate_name”. Different sides of the same coin but I enjoy this more than just “always mine void opals”.
I wouldn’t mind any of this if the tools we’re supposed to use actually worked and didn’t require work-arounds and knowledge that can only be obtained from outside the game by reading forums on how to use the broken tools.

Its just a bit too much for a video game. In lieu of intuitive, working trade tools I prefer the old system to what we have now....

however if it were all properly implemented I would agree with you. I like the idea of the new system but not the reality of it as it currently exists.

I grugdingly agree. The third party tools are amazing and show how great and dedicated the community is and I feel spoiled by them. Still no excuse to not have em in the game. Ill live in the happy medium though.

The last time i had a truly enjoyable elite experience was a few weeks after powerplay was first introduced. We were still stupid and thought that fdev would actually finish it and there were tons of people who were really into their powers and actively playing it as best as players can given that fdev doesn't give us a good way to communicate in the game and the vast majority occurs on the forum or other external channels. There was subterfuge, role playing, strategic cooperative planning and events. People spending dozens of hours each week participating.

Yea, pretty sure that was the last enjoyable time. These days ...I have more fun printing elite stuff than logging in and playing.

Having backed the game in kickstarter, I have been playing now for six years.

In that time I have hit most of the high points offered in the game and now find myself spending more time on the forum than in the game itself.

Most of the changes to the game have left me somewhat disappointed and now with the departure of Micheal Brookes and Paige Harvey, as well as the lack of lore, the dissappearence of galnet, GG's and Interstellar Inititaves and changes to the ADS, I find myself without the desire to play.

I am now Elite, having 3.5Bcr. and most of the ships I want, painted and engineered the way I like, the allure of the game seems lackluster in playstyle.

As well, with griefers and gankers ruining some of my game experiences and those using cheats, bots and trainers contributing to this mayhem and Frontiers lack of community communication on any front leaves me uninterested in playing at all now.

The next major update with the introduction of Fleet Carriers, at least for me, is nothing more than a mobile parking lot with a greater jump range and does not contribute anything to the gameplay, lore, or enhancement features of Elite. It may be fun for some, but aside from parking my ships on a mobile platform does not really interest me in the least.

If Frontier were to introduce things like Atmospheric landings or Space Legs with proper implementation, I might be more interested in playing again. If the Elite lore from the 1984 game were continued and introduced into the game properly, I might take more of an interest in a further investment of my time in what the game still has to offer.

On the whole, I have moved on to other games to fill my gameplay interest. As of this date, I have parked my ships with little interest in doing much until the new era arrives and will reevaluate my gameplay at that time.

o7....
That's spot on & just my feelings at the moment. The game's just ground to a halt!!!

I'm jumping between Space Engineer's & Farming Sim 19 for now. not got the urge to load up ED anymore - not until FC's are out (but even then, without any decent content to go with FC's, I sense it'll only be for a week or two).
Looks like it'll be when the next paid release hits then - pity, I've played since day 1 & enjoyed it....but not at this time.

Added: Oh & to answer the OP.......DWE2
