Don't worry, that game has been around for thousands of years. It'll survive without you.
fortunately there isn't a company with employees behind it that need it to survive.

Who is asking for that? The lack of an argument is really just proof that im right.
Fdev knows it. The just cant change things now. When SC is released their numbers will die off even more. Despite SC being a full fledged theme park.
Have you looked at Frontier's published accounts recently?fortunately there isn't a company with employees behind it that need it to survive.
Are you purposely misunderstanding?
it’s a simple question. Everyone agrees the galaxy is cool and the ships are cool. What content outside those two things do you think is done well? Or to put it another way, if you wanted to sell a new playeron elite in hopes they too play 2k hours, what are you showing them?
Why does it have to be outside those 2 things? Are you purposely misunderstanding?

Honestly the ships and the Galaxy you fly them in would be my selling point too. It's the best parts of the game. Are you purposely misunderstanding?

Then describe the content you are missing. If the 'Live in a dystopian future' isn't enough for you, what do you need?
So just exploring the map with a ship is worth thousands of hours to you. Ok cool. So the first discovered tag is probably important to you too, and with the number of stars in the game it will indeed give thousands of hours of content just honking shooting probes and jumping. But is that meaningful in any sense of the word? Do you think that can sustain a player base? Why does it have to be outside those 2 things?
Those sold it for me, and for many others and kept me occupied for more than 2 years.
The Stellar Forge is a great content provider.
Edit: crap. I has no opinion of value. Nevermind me![]()

Everything else is average at best or even a bit tedious. Especially here lately with the lack of content.

It was my selling point too. But the key addendum to my question is showing somebody who’s new content that will keep them playing. And that’s the point of contention myself and many others haveHonestly the ships and the Galaxy you fly them in would be my selling point too. It's the best parts of the game.

What percentage of gamers play any game?I'm really glad that a small percentage of gamers enjoy doing pointless monotonous tasks in cool spaceships... proud of you.
If Elite dangerous had a larger playerbase and a smaller area to play in you would have a point. But it doesn't. And the area we play in is a scale model of the Galaxy. So NPC interactions are a must. If we relied solely on player to player interactions then there would almost never be anything to do.Dystopia sucks. I'm glad you said that because I assumed as much.
I need player to player interaction... I need a risk of losing my ship. I need people to actually.want to mine materials for a greater goal. People.who want to.work together to build.something.
Trading with a computer is stupid and pointless. They don't need what I'm selling. Its . I'm glad you can accept that, but I just cant get past it. It's like thinking a stripper likes you. Cmon now.
Why do I want to mine? What am I going to do with it?
Why do I kill one of the zillion npc pirates?
Why do I want to passenger NPCs?
Sorry. Maybe I'm just incapable of accepting that vapid NPC interaction is the best Elite can do. Maybe I need to accept that video games have gone the way of music and this is dubsteps cyber equivalent. Repetition. Droning. Meaningless layers. Zzzz.

.... and gaming, unless for tangible reward, is ultimately pointless anyway.
It passes the time when I'm not playing....Great attitude. I'm curious as to why you're still a volunteer with such a post-modernistic attitude!
Really? Then Elite can continue to enjoy a dwindling player base that grows more and more anxious.
That's fine, I'll still be playing, and not anxious - unless I don't survive the pandemic, of courseNo worries for me. Once quarantine ends I surely wont bother with it.
