Of course my opinion is from anecdote only. But if my proposed solution, further development of the core game, which would be a huge pve enhancement, would only appeal to a small player base then who the heck is playing this game? People want a milquetoast sandbox? Is screenshots in space really the primary player base that you think should be catered to? You seem to miss that I'm suggesting a major enhancement and development of the core game which is the pve experience that PvP one exists within.
I seem to remember an open only aspect to your proposed solution.
If the game was an open only game

Further development of the core game doesn't need any adjustments to modes. You seem to continue to miss that just because I don't agree with your one mode solution, I do not want core improvements to the game.

It remains to be seem whether the proposed solution, which lacks detail, would constitute a "huge pve enhancement" or whether it'd simply result in "make the game more difficult for all players". If it was a huge PvE enhancement then there'd likely be little opposition to it.

However, there seems to be a "gotcha" in the proposal - and that is no Solo or Private Groups, everyone would need to play in Open therefore everyone could be attacked by other players. That's not a "huge pve enhancement" - that's something that's been on the "make them play with me" players wishlist for years.

If you don't want core improvement why are you still here? That ship sailed a long time ago.

The difference in being attacked by s person and an NPC is the UI and your own mind. Mechanically they are the same.

Fdev needs to solve gameplay problems with gameplay loops and mechanics, not imaginary walls. It's lazy, uninspired, and just drives further solutions down that same dumb path

I feel cheated when PS4 players affect the economy and PP of Xbox players and PC players. :D
Dime right! Make Elite PC Only!!!

And to address the irritating issue that the galaxy is too big so players can "hide" in the black, make Elite Bubble Only as well.

But then, it's so annoying to go look for and find people to grie... proper-pirate play in the bubble, so make a "Call all unshielded rookies to where I am" button, so I can show how gud I gitten by just clicking it and getting them to me, so I can kill them, and laugh at them... because Open is GREAT!

I agree with Sandro on this one.

The "walls" are as much a feature of the game as "being able to shoot at anything that one instances with", i.e. the feature that facilitates PvP. Selective acceptance of game features does not mean that those not accepted are not equally valid.

Equally valid as it currently sits sure. Good implementation vs other solutions is my contention. It's lazy.

This word for word your statement. You're making a list of things you don't want. You don't want open only and you don't want core improvements.

It's literally what you said.

You seem to have a difficulty in understanding what Ziggy is saying. Ziggy is looking for Core improvements as much as anyone. Ziggy just doesn't feel that open only is, or should be, a Core Improvement. It would be a change, yes. But, if I get this right, He and I don't feel that losing Solo or PG would be any kind of improvement.

I may have mentioned this before in other threads, but I think everyone should play in the mode which gives them the game experience they want in the game they bought.

Does anyone disagree this time?
What! What! Enjoying the game?

I think something is wrong with Elite if you enjoy it. Make Elite Grind Again!!!

Edit exists. Don't blame me for reading your words, and then checking them again to confirm.
Here, read this:
My mistake:

You seem to continue to think that just because I don't agree with your one mode solution, I do not want core improvements to the game.
Are you reading "My mistake:"?

It means I admit to making a mistake in the previous post. I posted the sentence I meant to write.
