Thanks for saying it, I figured I'd be castigated even worse than what was already happening if I brought up such a "controversial" (quote marks a mile wide and a mile high, there) topic. The multiple people bringing it up as a mean-spirited joke before either of us not being controversial in the slightest for some reason, of course ;). Seriously though, please stop it people. It's not SJW or "political" or whatever to ask for some peace for everyone on this forum, no one deserves to have who they are or their gender disparaged and treated as a joke when they're just trying to enjoy a video game. It's basic human decency.




I am! Thank you. I took a break because the thread was immediately derailed with some pretty mean stuff, hoping that it was just a fluke and when I came back there'd be some actual responses. That was... sort of correct. Well, mostly incorrect, but I learned there are some women who play this game and on this forum, and we have some friends as well, so that's valuable information. I was sort of hoping I'd feel more comfortable posting on this forum without hiding my gender after this post, the reality is the opposite of that but cat's out of the bag now so ¯\(ツ)/¯ guess I'll just deal.

I really appreciate everyone who responded in a helpful way!

Sorry the experience ended up like that. I ate my words pretty quickly after posting on page 1 that ED was a bit better than most places. I'm a southern boy and tend to hope that a lot of guys, especially the older ones, were raised right and know how to not to make a butt of themselves just cause a lady's around; that optimism has been appropriately challenged.

Have fun flying, and hopefully future game and forum experiences will be a bit more enjoyable than this one was! o7

I was going to respond to this sooner but my partner brought over our beautiful kitty cat so we all just hung out on the couch giving our baby lots of scritches while she purred. She's a very cuddly and loving cat, I really appreciate having her around in these trying pandemic times. She helps when I'm stressed, she helps when I'm not, truthfully she doesn't intend to help at all she just really likes scritches and cuddles.

I wouldn't say I'm very "triggered" at the moment. Just a normal person, going about my normal life, trying to ensure both myself and people like me (or even people unlike me!) can have a good experience in their off time, because God knows there's enough hard times going around right now to last a lifetime.

For the record, of all the people in this thread whose posting I objected to, yours was the one I felt comfortable responding to and thought I would get a reasonable response from, based on what I've seen of your character. I'm glad to know that my estimation of you was correct :)

Apologies again - I was not speaking about you but the gentleman with whom I was sparing with earlier, the one who brought racism into the debate.

This is your thread, and it is definitely in your right to be upset about certain responses to this thread. I get upset by the responses to some of my own threads, rightly so in most cases. Anyway, my words are getting me into trouble here (forgive my clumsiness), so I will bow out gracefully and allow this thread to return to topic.
