I am groot.
If anything, so is off-topic posting and derailing a thread from its subject.Cmdr's - your S̶J̶W̶ ideology is showing...and i believe Politics is against the rules...shhhhh!
I'm kind of restraining myself from sinking to your level here....So....
That's actually really depressing.Ever since Flimicity died. I have wondered the Galaxy alone.
Flimley
Yes especially that no one hears you cry in deep space. That's actually really depressing.
I offer hugs of solitude
Actually I think this thread probably answers any queries the OP hadWell this thread is a disaster.
To answer the OPs question, yes there are. A fair few.
Thank you.That's actually really depressing.

Toxic
People who find toxicity everywhere are specifically looking for it everywhere. And considering todays safe space needing crayon munchers consider everything that they don't like to be toxic simply by point of it existing, I consider the source.
That's certainly why I picked this username, back when I was a young girl who was a bit put off by ~It's an old myth that science fiction is mostly for guys, this attitude is rooted in old social norms about science being a man's world.
But It's never been true. Back in the pulp era Gernsback was surprised to get so many letters from female readers, and a fair number of early sci-fi writers were women (usually writing under male names). In fact, the first sci-fi novel was written by a woman (Mary Shelley).
Women have always been a part of science and science fiction, but due to cultural barriers they've largely been invisible. Just as early female writers used male names, many female gamers use male avatars to avoid the same cultural bias. So it's likely that many women play this game, but they don't want to deal with the gender baggage.

~ when I was 12 and playing Halo, lol. Kind of ironic that I would grow up to oppose stereotypes so much when my first thought was that they wouldn't think I was a girl if I said I was a doctor lmao. And certainly very good Cmdrs.Well this thread is a disaster.
To answer the OPs question, yes there are. A fair few.
Ironic that I just noticed this in my router logs while doing some troubleshooting: "NOTE: --mute triggered..."People who find toxicity everywhere are specifically looking for it everywhere.
Well..... certain "white knights" (you know, the ones that haunt me wherever I go) give me a stomach ache, does that count? The moment i hear someone describe something or someone as Toxic i suddenly zone out to my happy place.
They can't reach me there.
Poor OP...
There are quite a few women I know who play Elite Dangerous, I imagine the vast majority are just sensible enough to avoid this madhouse![]()
The majority of responses in this thread being prime examples as to why they would not feel welcome here.
Nope. I do not think what you are doing to the OP is humor. You might find it funny, but if I was the OP and came in asking honestly, I certainly would not find this funny at all. That you find it funny does not mean that everybody will and to many this behavior will be toxic and drive them away. Particularly people that are in a minority to begin with.
I keep dropping "my wife is a gamer" hints to hopefully make it obvious that I personally do not feel this way. I can't speak for the others, but I didn't get a "we hate women gamers" vibe skimming the thread.
Wow the thinly veiled transphobia in this thread is pretty horrible.
OP yes there are a fair few women playing this game, I guess choose not to reveal themselves though.
Heeey, OP is back \o/![]()
