I'm glad they are being more open in communication. But I seriously doubt their capability to make this half as cool as people seem to think it is. I mean we have Fleet Carriers coming out and they are already pretty useless or not compelling gameplay and are credit sinks designed to bilk people. (Going from what we saw in Beta 1 and 2.)
And yet we forget all of that with a half way shiny teaser trailer. I will believe it when I see it.
ED is the only game worth the VR...Rest are children games.
There are no other immersive VR game on the market like ED. And god knows i am the first one to rant against ED.
As a lifetime pass holder I'm looking forward to getting access to all the paid updates the moment they come out without the need to pay at the time. That is what was paid for. Not the idea that expansions will remain at full price forever preventing others from joining. Now, if FDev released an ED+all expansions deal at a discounted price the moment Odyssey was was released you'd have a fair point I think. Do you think that would happen though?Oh goody. I assume another paid for add on for vanilla ED like Horizions? Since you can get ED + Horizons and a few extras bundles together for £39.99 there is still a way to go to get VFM from my £120 lifetime pass paid in 2015!!!
That's right, and nobody liked that, and those were at least spaceships. And yeah we're gonna have the exact same thing with spacelegs, and if you think that's good, you're in luck.I was speaking towards the graphical side of things. But it's not like engineered/Player opponents in this game manage to be less Bullet spongy than anything the Division offered.
Best guess is Horizons content would be included with Odyssey. But y'know it's also important to remember that Frontier are gonna fudge with this anyway, and there's no reason to assume anything on the Steam page is going to still be the same by the time the game comes out. Please remember that Horizons was once sold as an all-inclusive standalone package marked as "early access" when it first hit Steam, then quickly switched over to DLC "for" Elite Dangerous.Interestingly the Steam page for Odyssey says that you need the base game "Elite Dangerous" to play it, it doesn't say that you need Horizons to play it. So how do you land on a planet if you don't have Horizons? Or are the two environments (Space and Land) not seamlessly integrated?
I've both 4K & VR...About the 4K, well it doesn't surprise me. A 4K monitor is expensive as biiiiiip. Not only you will need to pay an expensive monitor, but also the GPU that comes with it. A bit like VR.
New hardware in development? For gaming? Any source for that?
Las ttime I cheked there where projects on the works for game compatible VR, and nothing high end, as it would be required to play Odissey without a pucking bag at all times. ( who am I kidding, you'll puke even with a high end VR set).
Don't forget your space ship flying and SRV/s which for some bizarre reason people seem to think disappear and you can only walk everywhere when this will be released. So it's going to be a first person adventure game with an equipment based ability system and FPS elements? And I suppose the jetpack will evacuate you should your vitals go critical.
I have never puked when using VR. Alien Isolation is great in VR. Half Life:Alyx looks great too. There are many other games that are good in VR.About the 4K, well it doesn't surprise me. But do you remember to put your 'Brown Trousers' on when playing Alien Isolation? Important questionI have never puked when using VR. Alien Isolation is great in VR. Half Life:Alyx looks great too. There are many other games that are good in VR.
They do have the skill, and the know how. This much we know. The question is, is it worth it?
Dev time is expensive you know?
I am going to equip my jetpack with a frame shift drive and from then on go everywhere on foot. Yes. Spacelegs. Literally.Don't forget your space ship flying and SRV/s which for some bizarre reason people seem to think disappear and you can only walk everywhere when this will be released.
I'll return fire with my BFG.Yep, extra content for Griefers and Gankers, expect as you little squad crew of 3 leaves your ship or multicrew SRV , that a Griefer mows you all down with multicannons from 200m above, safely in their Krait mk2.
Why not ? It would make sense. You have the VR in all ED versions, so I think this will also be implemented in Odyssey. Let's be optimisticIt looks amazing, though as a VR CMDR I have one very big question: Will it have VR support?
