Make scanning systems not take forever and I'll be happy.
*edit, LOL at all the boomers mad at fps elements being added.

It's very pretty.Watch the trailer with headphones on, holy Christ! There are no words to adequately describe how amazing the new sounds are. The quality is like that of a blockbuster movie. Hopefully this is what makes it into the game.
Which is fine as long as they don't give you some kind of ship-enhancing reward for anything to do with this expansion. They have not said that will be the case, so it's still possible this will be "fake optional" as the other user put it.It will definitely be optional. There will be new kinds of missions you can only get on foot inside facilities, but FPS combat is completely an optional part. You don't even have to own a gun
FPS doesn't necessarily mean Elite turns into CoD. There are a lot of things that one could do on foot that could be fun but don't involve shooting, for example one could go on EVA to repair damage to your hull, or collect plant samples from a planet. I think a statement from FDev here would be useful. Please tell me all the FPS stuff is optional. And I mean truly optional, not "fake optional" like engineering is. There are many of us who really do not want to go within a light year of touching a shooting game.
Hoping to soon see details about ship and station interiors, VR support, explorable planet types, updated NPC interactions, and of course any new ships and vehicle types.
If looter shooters are what you're into, then yeah you'll probably be happy with Elite Odyssey.Looks at the Division Um... Okay.
Sick burn bro. >X)Bruh. I've been here since 2015 when the game first arrived on Xbox. Now on PC.
Nice try though, "Joined: Apr 11, 2020"
Now check my join date. I rest my case.
Do you have a source on this?It will definitely be optional. There will be new kinds of missions you can only get on foot inside facilities, but FPS combat is completely an optional part. You don't even have to own a gun
Actually, the ships are rather massive. Not exploration-kind, bur even the Cobra Mk III is larger than the Millennium Falcon. There's some stuff you could enjoy quality of life in.
Will odessey support VR?
No idea. At this point its all speculation.
But if it doesn't, don't worry, VR players will still be able to play Vanilla and Horizons.
And this bit of info might explain as to why not.
I mean, Frontier's interest is to attract new costumers, not to pander to a portion of its playing community.
Many VR players will drop out of the game if its confirmed, and that is sad.
But chances are that they will gain WAY more players that simply don't care about VR.
Its sad to say, but at this point, with those numbers, VR for gaming is pretty much dead.
Not even Alyx could save it, pretty sure ED wont either.
I suspect they won't say much for a while. They want to see the reaction from the player base (things being said in this thread for instance), and release only minimal information over time.FPS doesn't necessarily mean Elite turns into CoD. Good point,Now we can all complain about how there's nothing to do walking around on these planets, just like all the Star Citizen players!
