ANNOUNCEMENT Fleet Carriers - Content Reveal Announcement

Such a shame about the 5billion price, really, it negates the vast majority of loyal players/customers from ever getting one, we are not all
han solo’s or buck rogers, some of us are mortal and as I’ve been playing since release on the Xbox and love the game I still only have assets of 4 billion, which I thought was quite good, but no, not good enough, i got elite status,I got the clipper I got the corvette, but I’ll be dammed if I’m going to grind for another two years to get a carrier, shouldn’t have to, should be more accessible to all, short sighted, its a game it should be fun, not frustrating and annoying, your going to lose quite a few people I’ll bet. I’m waiting for the dlc, I don’t even mind paying for it, but let everyone have a go at owning one If they want.

Sorry but I do find it difficult, like I said were not all buck Rodgers, but congratulations on your earnings, well done.

Im not buck anything
Theres litterally tons of tutorials on exactly what to do

D2EA, Exigeous, both have very broken down, very specific tutorials on exactly what to do

I followed their recommendations to the letter
So youre only reason to gripe is that you dont wanna put in the work

I have 0 sympathy there

I am willing to put the work in and will try again, and your sympathy is the last thing I want, my point still remains that carriers are to expensive and the vast majority agree, thankyou for your help and understanding I will look into the links you’ve posted, thanks for your support.

Carriers are expensive. They are intended for the players who have put in a lot of effort, and probably already have over 1B in their ships. Myself, I haven't been playing that long, and I already have 2B tied up in my fleet, 5.3B in cash. I'll do some more mining before buying, just so I can leave cash on board for expenses for a while.

I'm sorry that you think it's unfair, because you think it's too hard to get, and you won't follow simple advice on how to get enough cash to do it quick. If you want the expensive toy, you have to get the cash. Or you can just land on a friend's. Or just not get it.

I don't think it's fair that I don't have a mansion and a fleet of exotic cars. How would you advise me to resolve that?

It is most certainly not "unfair" and that is the most odd way of viewing an end-game acquisition.

Do you still have so many things to spend money on? Do you still have game paths to explore? Cuz I don't, and I'm running out of things worth spending money on at the end-game, and so having a new expensive goal to work towards makes that end-game worth playing... and once unlocked, will add a different level of playability for myself and many of the members in my squadron.

If someone is not in a position to be in the designated market this craft was designed for, that someone should not be complaining about those who are, how they got there, or that they would have to follow similar routes to get into the position of being the type of player this craft was designed for, who it's marketed to.

Case in point: There are gaming computers for sale with 3 graphics cards that each cost over a thousand dollars, on top of an HEDT CPU that costs well over a thousand dollars itself... There are $10,000 graphics cards out there.... But there is NO point in complaining in some release thread about such parts or computers that the means to acquire one or be in a position to afford one requires too much repetitive work, too much savings, regardless of the IRL vs Game analogy -- sure, games are designed to be fun, but open world games are only as fun as the player.

I had plenty of fun EVERY SINGLE TIME finding my own prospecting areas, finding that good asteroid field to make many runs to-from until it was too depleted for quick gains, then finding another. I had plenty of fun hunting each individual asteroid with the content I was looking for... was very immersive, at times challenging especially when guns are pointed at you with the directive to drop half your cargo or face oblivion...

It's only ever as much fun as you make it and the game is there to give you many options, but then again, so is GTA:V online... so is Red Dead Redemption 2 Online... so are so many open world online games. It is always great to always have something more to work for, once you get it, once you reach that carrot - you have to find another. It's about the journey, not just about the destination. The South Park "World of Warcraft" episode comes to mind.... the vague difference between 'grinding' and 'playing'.

*edit - P.S. -- I know most of you didn't grow up with the early era of gaming, but I can put it simply that it's great to have a game that isn't 'beat' in a weekend, that isn't 'dead' when "Elite: Dangerous 2" comes out, to have a persistent universe that feels alive and can be immersive, playable for years and years, that has things in it worth buying, worth saving up for over years and years. I don't think anyone wants the Elite: Dangerous to be something where a player can consume the entirety of it's experience in a few months time, in a single years time...

5 billion was easy to come by
You can do it in 5 to 6 trips with 512 cargo (each) at 1.6 million a ton wing mining with a full wing (including dividends)

12ish with 256 cargo

wow I’m so wrong thankyou all for the great advice, if what you say is true, and you can get enough for a carrier in 5 to 6 trips then they are seriously underpriced for an end game acquisition, Ive been going about it all wrong. Thanks for the tips and see you in the black with my spanking new carrier.

Lolz you can be butthurt if you want
But the fact remains that credits are easy to come by
If you were struggling, then you were going about it wrong,
Feel free to look me up on inara if you want to see how quickly i put that 22.7bill cr up

Ive done multiple 512 runs a day
A few days in a row a couple times

What do you plan to use your carrier for?

Mined at Borann twice, made between 100 to 180 million.

That's all I could take, going from rock to rock, shooting limpet after limpet; "Does that have any? How about that one? Damn limpet self-destructed! This isn't worth repetitive stress syndrome!"

My liquid capital stands at just shy of 8 billion, best to wait and see how much FUN early adopters have with FCs before draining 5 billion from the bank for one ship.
