Rent your FC for AFK credits!

I don't know if I'll ever be able to afford a fleet carrier; I hate grinding and the nerfs are coming! Thing is, I don't need to own a fleet carrier to do what I want. I would happily rent a FC from another player, but this means that player would need to actually "give" me their carrier for a period of time. Specifically, it would need to offer the services I require, be moved to the location I designate, and I would like to choose the name for the carrier for the duration of my "lease". It seems to me the best candidate for this would be a CMDR who is taking a break from the game, or a CMDR with a rarely-used alt account who also happens to own a FC.

In return, that carrier would make credits through my actions. I would be cashing in cartographic data, using it for refueling and repairs (feel free to apply those tariffs), and I'd also be happy to mine Tritium or LTDs if the carrier offered me a fair (but profitable for the owner) price. It probably wouldn't be a LOT of credits, but it would be better than nothing, especially if the CMDR who owns the carrier is AFK doing other things. Heck, if nobody is home, might as well rent out the house for a little income!

I'm posting this more to discuss the general idea rather than me personally renting a FC, though I am interested in the possibility. My biggest concern as the renter is the issue of trust - I would be bringing my entire fleet and requesting the FC go to a specific location for a duration of time. A bad actor could easily "kidnap" my fleet or deactivate docking privileges while I'm in a non-exploration ship out in the middle of nowhere. I would also like the keep the destination private, my own little personal bubble of sorts. Trust is a must!

Anyway, what are your thoughts?

ps - if my PS4 account had enough credits, I would buy a FC there and "rent" it to myself on PC, but even that account is far shy of 5 billion credits, assets included. :(

I'll be offline all next week, so I'll ask you which you prefer:
  1. Move my FC to a system of your choice on Friday night (June 19)
  2. Stay where I'm at and passively collect LTDs which could easily reach 1 billion in profits. These profits will be transferred to your FC fund.

Second option, as I'm looking more at the Fall for my own personal expedition, and it would be for longer than a week (probably a month give or take). I do appreciate both offers, however! :D

Since summer is busier for me, I'm actually enjoying using other people's carriers as ferries, since it allows me to travel without having to log in for hours at a time. I guess that's a subtext of the OP - renting and riding other people's carriers might actually be the better solution for players like me, despite my deep desire to own one myself someday (I'm still taking donations).

That would mean buying in-game ships with real money via ARX. I leave it up to you whether you think that's a slippery slope.

I’ll hire my FC out but you better bring it back with a full tank of Tritium, the added expense for us to fill it up will make your eyes water.

C’mon, we’ve got to cover the costs of people ragging it hiring it as everyone knows there’s nothing faster than a Hire Car(rier.)

I would expect nothing less! I would be willing to fill it up in the Bubble (where I would transfer all my ships over) and replenish whatever fuel is used to get to my destination once I get out there. This assumes that mining the necessary Tritium is less of a grind than mining enough LTDs to buy my own FC... Is it?

a certain freelancing website is selling 5billion credits for $19.99

delivery is 48 hours apparently soooo..... yeah there's that option if you cba to grind.
