I don’t know if this is new, but it’s misleading, this is on the PS4 version....
Mining profits were buffed in December 2018. Until then mining profits were laughable at best - simply ignored by everyone else.
I'd rather not see the game returned to that state...
Mining is so much more profitable than any other activity it's not even close. It's the main problem with Elite currently. Every live stream I see is someone mining because the player base forgot how to do anything else, and it's mainly because everyone wanted a Fleet Carrier. Well, everyone and their damn cat has a Fleet Carrier now. Some could afford 5 of them. Mining is busted.
How about making other activities worthwhile? I'm frankly sick of everyone thinking ED is a mining sim.
If you guys EVER decide to give us balanced rewards maybe your game wouldn't revolve around one activity, and players constantly arguing whether the one activity deserves a nerf. Mining is the focus of your dev team because your reward system is broken. I don't know how many more ways I can say it nicely.
Wake up and smell the imbalance.
Hotspots are now Coldspots and even for this game, that's sounds like a bug.
Oh, so tritium mining was killed too?
Yeah... I see your point, partly...
ED is not RL.
With all the billions and FC, players still have to sweat mining tritium and transfer it from cargo to depot by themselves...
RL is so much fun than ED, at least in RL you can actually pay someone to do your chores![]()
It is 60000 around full range, so you can fly 30000 around sell base and back. You mine tritium? Why when you could mine LTD at 30-40x the value? I go mine a single quick load of 150-200 LTDs and sell them for 300m or so. Then I buy 7500 tons of tritium and haul it back and forth to my carrier the 7-8 trips it takes.
Tritium mining is so silly at the moment it alone is enough to keep my FC tethered to human space and places that sell tritium. I might fly it to colonia if you can buy trit there, I haven't checked (and actually i think you can store enough in the cargo hold for a round trip flight actually.
It may not be of consolation to many, but Hyades Sector DB-X D1-112 A3 seems to still be viable for Painite mining, although somewhat reduced. We did observe 0 SSDs in this instance though as well as the reported glitch of the abrasion blaster on some of the core asteroids. My gut instinct here is that there is an error in the degree of the reduction in the LTD% seems as D1-112 seems about in line with the wording of the patch notes.
Needless to say, if you have a mining itch you need to scratch, this would be my pick for the time being.
I see. Mostly mucking with mining this patch. Fixing hair options of course. Minor fleet carrier bugs. There were more added instead of the old ones fixed, as per the OP.
I am all for more methods of credit gains too, particularly around combat. Whilst I agree that mining has indeed been very potent, I would hate to see it go away entirely as an option. Certainly not for mechanics bugs like abrasion blasting. We've scratched through the skin and onto the bone at this point. Frontier need to give players reasons to scratch other professions.....meh, its like screaming while in a hurricane at this point, as far as FDev are concerned its all about the mining.
Btw, we need achievement "Never docked another carrier"
...not sure what that DSSS guys expected, dead baby born.
Yeh, "A" ... I mean .. met couple carriers in void, didn't even bother to came close. Proper Anaconda is carrier itself, if she can move - she will repair to full in no time.DSSS or DSSA?
The DSSA Initiative is a movement to put at least one permenant carrier in Every region of the Galaxy, with some ferrying explorers back and forth. Like the Fuel Rats, it's other players putting in time and effort to make the game more enjoyable for others.
DSSS I am unfamiliar with.
From my youth I was warned:
... never go into an unattended swimming pool at night?
(My coat is already on)
The way the game was meant to be played wasn't enjoyable for alot of people judging by the steam numbers. This actually had people playing the game.
Just think about this.... "Broken" LTD mining brought more people to the game than planetary landings.
Credits need a boost across the board, nerfing the two ways people enjoyed and with tritium trading, actually had real gameplay implications is a terrible move.
