Patch Notes Fleet Carriers Update - Patch 4 Patch Notes

What an idiotic statement. Fact of the matter is I could have stopped at 1.75 hours and still replaced all the fuel used for my last jump, which is the main reason for mining since exploration pays all my expenses and more, lots more. If you can't spare 2 hours to keep fuel in your tank maybe you shouldn't be flying an FC out of easy reach of a station. Or flying an FC at all.

Compared to mining I spend 8-10 times more hours doing exploration, and I never mix work with play lol. For me it's all play, forever. So very sorry you're still playing the role of wage-slave.
That what I do, it is parked 3 weeks already, at most 500ly around jumps. And I'm a bit disappointed, because those 3 weeks were longest period I ever sit in bubble. From bright side, finally made imperial rank and got invites to all engee.

On PC you can make make this button toggleable by some app, it makes this grind even more "efortless".
You press the button, do something else, then you press again when rock is depleted, fly to another rock.
repeat

A Voice Attack macro: "engage rock"... "disengage"..."engage rock"..."disengage"... :)

People here will call me doctor, if I will talk with computer :D ... and need a mic at least for that. And maybe windows to run voice attack :D I could do such program for Linux in a week, but feel lazy. I like press btns.

You can always switch to mindless laser Painite mining.
Allegedly some players manage to watch Netflix simultaneously .

I know for sure that I do some things on my Phone while lasers are lasering ;)

PS. One of "How could I not have this idea sooner" moments is realizing, that you should bind collector limpets to the same button as lasers to ensure maximal amount of collectors working continuously.

Just make sure you won't fry your ship by depleting PD for too long.
This is exactly what i do, laser mining and Netflix or CNN, BBC 😂

Okie dokie, I have just been wing laser mining in a single Tritium hot spot for the last 2 to 3 hours with a friend, I collected nothing, just blasted the rocks for him so he could get double the yield. He ended up with just 114 units of Tritium, most of the rocks we prospected were 15-25%, something is clearly off.

Before, in the time we spent in that hot spot, I could have done 1 or 2 max cargo runs (320 unit mining Conda) on my own.

It's incredibly difficult for a carrier owner such as myself to do this alone as things stand, I would love to spend a few days mining the 1000s of units I need to enjoy my long expeditions out into the black, without having to worry about topping up for a while.

I hope something is done soon to make it possible for those of us who don't have a large group of friends to help out, to manage and fuel our carriers efficiently. I wont give up on the game, I absolutely love it, it's a real escape for me from the slog of normal life and this ugly world we're living in.

That is typical for TriHS, always has been. But laser mining alone is not the most efficient way to get Rocket Tea -- add digging out the SSD veins to the mix for a far more rewarding total tonnage. In that same 3 hours I have consistently mined enough tritium to recover jump fuel costs and put some away in my hold for future lean times or sale. After patch 4 I have gotten 100T per hour in a Tri1 HS. I mine intrinsic (laserable) lodes, SSD veins, and SD scabs. A PWA is also necessary to identify the SSD & SD rocks.

This was the case for me before the patch, evidently it's still the case so I agree with you. A message to fdevs, Mining makes up a majority of my income in Elite, please unnerf mining asap! 👷

Why do u waste time on trit near bubble? >: At worse ratio 1 vo = 15 trit.
I didn't go Trit mining, I went VO mining. But I'm still prospecting and if I see something easy to mine, I'll take it.

Some people are hard to please.
They wanted Tritium easy to find, they got Tritium easy to find ANYWHERE, and yet, they are still complaining.
Because I wasn't looking for Trit. I was looking for VOs and the VO hotspot had more Trit in it that anything else.

If it'd be a trit hotspot, I wouldn't complain.
If you got a clothes shop, and you find more food outlets than clothes, wouldn't you start thinking you are in the wrong place?

Before the bogus patch that nerfed us into the Great Rocket Tea Drought, I was mining LTD hotspots consistently, and frequently getting as much or more tritium to boot. That prompted me to offer this thread when the nerfhammer slammed down on us. Now it seems all core mining products are still badly reduced, but I will be testing that next time I encounter an LTD hotspot. VO, Alex, Grandi and other core mineral hotspots should all provide decent tritium results, but it's not the tritium messing things up, it's the nerf on LTDs that seems to have affected all cores.

So I tried to move slowly as everybody say ...
1st jump :) Used a bit less then 200t
While was waiting carrier gathered mats on planet...

65 minutes in trit x1 spot: 124 trit + 20 of others. So i need another 35 mins to cover 1 jump :D
Nope, nope. Will use cargo for 2-3 more jumps till NS road, then will cover 7000 left by anaconda in next 90 mins.
If we must to mine something, make it collectable by SRV. Like u connect pipes and it feels cargo :D
I would preffer to drive that 2-3 hours instead shooting rocks.

Nope, still not fixed. Even happens in systems with less than 10 carriers.

This sometimes happens to me entering systems with 0 carriers (permit locked like Shinrata Dezra)

I think Frontier are blaming fleet carriers for something which isn’t necessarily the fault of the FC (other than maybe more concurrent players in game in general)

maybe the web servers can’t cope ... maybe there’s a bug somewhere ... I just know it can’t all be carrier related as carriers can’t jump into permit locked systems and I still get way too many orange sidewinders in permit locked systems.....

oddly has anyone else noticed that when the launcher says it can’t initialise the network that it then sits there repeatedly trying IPv6 addresses? I don’t have v6 on my home network as Virgin Media still don’t support v6 Yet the launcher keeps trying v6 ... and no, there’s no 6to4 on the network either.

@Cyberblitz I love looking at the planets, especially Jupiter and her moons, and Saturn. Only with a 3" telescope so far. I would like to get a bigger 'scope some day.
Yea, the 10" sky watcher newtonians aren't that expensive, this is what i use..

Here is a pic of the moon i took 2 nights ago

I couldn't give two s about Fleet carriers or their fuel problem. I hate them... Need to work in game to maintain a virtual object?? Why do you do that?
You all should know by now how frontier are with patches of this game. You keep expecting them to do a good job, i do not understand this.
They up many things and people whine instead of actually complain to them.

What do expect from a great company that cares more about skins than gameplay fixes.

If they would care about skins, then we'd get something decent on a regular basis. For the last heaven knows how long, we've been getting stuff that probably the accountant's nephew whipped up on MSPaint in 2 minutes.
If they would really want skins that people buy, reach out to the community. We've seen what some people can do. Buy them off the makers for 1000 ARX each, make that money back in no time - Not like it costs them anything, really. What is 1000 ARX these days? 2.5 weeks of grinding emergent gameplay?

An accountant who uses his nephew ?

Family money business here ? :p

If they would really want skins that people buy, reach out to the community. We've seen what some people can do.

Reasons why they don't do that:
1. No one in their entire company, including the accountants nephew, had this idea. They could run a competition of sorts...

2. As you mentioned, there are skilled people out there and make a better job in skin design, this is a problem you know.

Like my previous boss, they are too arrogant to accept suggestion from those skilled people, and think they can do better. Hence, we get MS paint skins.

Still the accountants nephew could better waste his time in Validation / Coding instead of this.
