That looks very interesting indeed. Some of the work on the planets looks great, the Ice planets in particular. Can't wait to see more.

It is very nice to hear that still so many of the team talk about exploration being one of the best things about Elite and how exploration in Elite gives you a feeling that you can't get in any other game. Though it pains me slightly to put a bit of negativity into this post, can you please address the dozens of bugs and issues that plague Exploration and the Codex and have done for 20 months now! If it's that important to the game, then please make sure it's working.

Yes, testing the waters of PG flora on light atmospheres, full Earthlikes will flow from this. I wonder if there will be any dense areas like a massive forest, even given the atmosphere is light. Plants can alter the surrounding eco-system and weather patterns and hope to see some huge patches of dense growth reflecting this and/or areas of gas/liquid availability.
 
Is this stairs coming from the ship or just landing gear?

Its a shame we don't get that level of enthusiasm for other parts of the game too though. I'm hoping the following diaries address this, along with other features that dare not speak their names getting love.

Looks nice, but only one gameplay loop mentioned. Why would I want to land on planets in the first place? Existing SRV gameplay is so boring and clunky that I try to avoid going to planets whenever possible, even for materials. If walking is just SRV only slower - I am not sold.
