I'm not really worried that there are some positives from these things. There are.
But a big part of me wishes where we are now (first person content and more than just rocky airless worlds) started earlier.
I'd happily sacrifice all of those three parts of the game (sans some aspects like SLFs which are cool) for Odessey being the second phase of Horizons and Horizons starting instead of Power play. Then perhaps by now we'd be looking at Odessey being something totally mind blowing like the next phase of planetary types being accessible. That and extensive work on the main career paths (more than what we've had).
It's just my personal view, my own thoughts on how fdev might have gone when I first read the plans back in beta.
I'm not bitter that it turned out how it has done. And I'm looking forward to Odessey. I just don't really put a lot of weight into ED Risk, ED Crafting and ED Arena. Not nearly as much as other things. So I can understand why someone might be disappointed that Odessey might not have ship interiors at launch.
I won't let it bother me though.
Honestly I think the massive tantrum over Horizons pricing (which led to a price reduction maybe ? wasn't bothered myself so no idea) made them reassess the financial viability and everything got shifted back till the bottom line looked better. Pure speculation.
