Game Discussions Star Citizen Discussion Thread v12

Some work has been done on the Aaron belt.

Oh gods... i can see why you put the timestamp there. Go back a few seconds and they are showing off dead eye NPCs with bland texturing looking like they came right out of Mass Effect: Andromeda.

Totally understand why you didn't put the timestamp earlier, they look really crap.

As always, wake me up when it is playable in game. And if you're wondering why the same skepticism is not shown towards, for example, Cyberpunk 2077, the answer is simple. CDPR have earned their reputation for shipping games and delivering on what they show. The pretend game company has also earned their reputation for not delivering.

Only one way to prove the doubters wrong..

So true, funny how it seems, always in time, but never in line for dreams....
Our camp was the old Waffen SS tank barracks adjoining Spandau nick...when the Russians were on guard duty there, we used to chuck them cans of McEwans ale and packs of duty free Benson & Hedges cigarettes over the wall in exchange for cap badges and regimental insignia :D

I shudder to think what they'd have thrown back if you'd chucked them Tennents :D
I think they liked the pics on the old McEwans export cans...stuck in a jail on guard duty for an entire month...I'd probably have liked them too :D

Meanwhile, back at the ranch...

The free fly is surprisingly stable...usual minor orgs spamming the global chat looking for new victims to bolster their attempts at global domination...inventory is still as slow as molasses...like the new flight model for the bigger ships...hangar doors still aren't fixed.

Apart from that, business as usual in the PU.

Yeah, found it quite stable

Played for about an hour, entirely in Area 18.

Spent most of my time wandering around lost, buying food at the various markets shopping for clothes and equipment.

No bugs or crashes, a bit of stuttering occasionally, the snap to animations was a bit off putting when you have walked away from the burrito stand after buying a few only to snap back to pick one up.

Purchased a hand mining tool, couldn't find anywhere the sold a revolver, and took a contract for a delivery mission, once I figured out where the space port was.

Rented a RSI Aurora, since I wanted to see how the starter ship played as opposed to the Free Fly ships, and took off.

Was just space baring up and got a warning and the auto pilot took over and crashed me.

Overall felt functional

That is because of "landing splines". they are new and are remarkable because of how stupid they are.

You have to use them at Area 18 or Lorville. When you leave or approach the landing area, you have to go through the spline. Auto pilot shouldn't crash you, but it does. all the time. and sometimes quite hilariously.

On approach you will get them after calling for landing permissions.

When you are leaving, make sure you are in the pilot seat and have the ship started before asking for permission from ATC to leave. There was a bug that if you called from ATC permission to leave before in the seat and running that the spline would not show up. Not sure if that bug still exists.

The splines look like this:

Cheers.

I figured there was some flight path I was no following but had not looked around, as I thought straight up would have been an acceptable exit.

The Auto Pilot tried to land me again it seemed which was an issue due to the Hanger Doors being closed.

I will give it another go tonight

The landing splines get me all the time on take off. I dont go to Area 18 or Lorville that often, but I always forget about them since they are new in 3.10.

Go to blast off, up and away and auto pilot slams me back into the ground. :ROFLMAO:

When you will leave the city, go to the nearest station in space and request landing. It will save your spawn to this station and you will not have to spawn in the city again if you die.
The stations are Everus Harbor for Lorville | Hurston, Baijini Point for Area18 | ArcCorp and Port Tressler for New Babbage | Microtech.
Don't miss Levski in Delamar, it's a very different city.

Good call. And to be clear, you don't actually have to land. Like littleant said, just request landing.

Eight years, $300 million and SC gets graded on a curve for some reason. One whole hour, with auto-pilot driving the spaceship into the ground. In a space game.

I dont recall giving a grade?
It was with reference to stability and no crashes, well server crashes, not my opinion as to a game to play to which the time was not sufficient to form an opinion on

My thoughts and prayers are with you in these trying times. I'm sure you are disappointed he did not experience repeated 30k's, falling through the floor, getting killed by ladders etc in his short game play time. But you will get through this. We will get through it together.

Perhaps watching hours upon hours of Star Citizen twitch streams so you can find a clip of a bug to post will lift your spirits?
