How many times has that happened now?

For Chris? Others will know more about him than I do but on an educated guess I d say 3 times+.

1 - Wing Commander
2 - Movie industry when he started to make negative waves with bad receptions/reviews and actor drama (Kevin Costner)
3 - Unknown incident probably away from public eyes leading to the SC kickstarter

Interesting comments.

"I take this article with a very HUGE grain of salt.

It is no different than Blizzard saying, "We have 20,000,000 registered accounts!" But what they don't tell you is less than 500,000 of them are actually active. "

Errr, your second point completely undermines your first and explains why you should believe it.

The rest seem to be on the lines of 'But you cant trust the source or accuracy of the data' (provided by CIG) which is taken as good thing? CIG has inaccurate data about its funding and thats fine?

Then theres the 'Gift' fallacy. 'Does it include gifted accounts?' No, because they arent backers you see, the gifter is a backer, the giftee is not, they havent spent their own money. Thats the point! They havent backed it at all and show no inclination to do so.

Then theres the 'everyone included' fallacy - 'But if everyone (720K) bought a $10 sub it would be $7.2m pm and keep the game going along with other monetisation'. But not everyone does or will sub and when the game was released (released as a game with another one on the way in 2015 according to CR) its supposed to be no ship sales anymore isnt it? And whats the sub for on completion? To watch CMs play the game? would you pay $10 pm for Supercruise News or do you expect it to be free?

That said, there's no denying that for now at least, Star Citizen is a huge game

Umm... there are much bigger games out there in terms of gameplay, playable area, or whatever measure you'd like to use.

Oh, i like that site. No comments section. Joe B can't explain to everyone why everything is good.

In fact, the average payment per person playing Star Citizen is $379.37, which seems like a lot but is probably on par with games like World of Tanks.

Except that WoT is an actual game that has been released, it has been reviewed by critics, it has been in operation for 10 years and players have received delivery on all items purchased.
