Game Discussions Star Citizen Discussion Thread v12

No they refuse to showcase Sq42 because there is nothing to showcase. Tonker Notwist never played "all the levels" and they never did any work beside the bullshots from vertical slice and trailer vids. There is no extensive mocap, star voice acting, story telling. There is nothing. The money went all into their pockets without developing a game. Fees, wages, boni. That's what Sq42 is about. The enrichment of robbers and friends on gullible people's money.
Perhaps he played all the levels, say if there is some proof of concept very early demolevel.... Then that statement is technically true.

Fulmar...or frigate bird, we call them 'Boxies' in the local vernacular. Tons of them up here. I see them dicing with death around those massive swells like it's fun.

There's a popular nesting site on the small cliffs at the edge of our farm...we go down there quite a lot picking up scallop shells. My wife collects them for some unknown reason...

Birds are crazy, and perhaps they are having fun. I remember how some swallows played "who dares to fly most near to cat" game with our cat, who btw. was quite good hunter. Most crazy bird won main prize of that "play stupid games, win stupid prizes" game. And got swatted down and killed by our cat.

Our moggies have been attacked quite often by the Boxies, and they're not exactly friendly domestic cats being farm cats...as have my wife and I when wandering down the beach. The Boxies are quite protective and aggressive at nesting time. They're also big enough to give you a serious clout if they hit you...damned things dive like StuKas.

They don't come inland very often, even the few hundred yards to our farm...we only see them at nesting time and only on the sea cliffs or along the beach.

Some actual good feedback here.

And some funny comments.

And of course the expected comments from people who haven't seen another game in the last 20 years.

I thought it looked bloody amazing

hahahahahahaha....

Ship names themselves shouldn't be forced to be unique

Too late, CIG already sold unique names to players. You want Millenium Falcon? Forget it. Some whale will already have that! You'll have to be the Millenial Falcon.

There's only one nameable ship as far as I know...the warbond Corsair. It was part of the warbond package for the concept jpeg...'Pick a unique name for a ship you won't see for 11 years'. Awesome :D

I always get a bite out of the faithful when I remind them that all my ships in Elite have unique names and serial numbers 🤭

One ship or many, people will have already claimed Millenium Falcon, Firefly, and many other popular names.

most streamers I m aware of use Star Citizen for what its worth to generate clicks and thus revenue. I cannot believe that Obsidian for example will be crushed or majorly disappointed if SC never comes together. He seems distant and professional enough to realize whats what. Mike on the other hand at least plays the role of the faithful to a "t". Could be an act...could be true belief I cant say. If he plays it he does it much better than most.

Mike is like a particularly stupid puppy. He seems occasionally to be on the brink of a moment of clarity, then Roberts and co. toss a new ball of shiny foil in his direction and he's back to scampering around barking and drooling.

It's that time of year again up here on our small rock in the ocean... 60 knot winds for a week, persistent mains power cuts, no connection to t'interweb due to the power cuts, no ferries for over a week and going outside is downright dangerous rather than just 'bracing' 😰

You got that and its gonna be 37 and sunny where im at.

:censored:

The highest temperature we've had for this year was 17°c...for one day. Averaged out over the entire summer at somewhere around 12-14°c..
What's the coldest it gets? Avg temp for winter?
And celcius? I didn't know that was a thing for you people.

At the moment it's around 4°c...but the winds are north-easterly at 56 knots so figure in the wind chill...it's pretty cold outside. We've been using celcius in the UK since decimalisation in 1971...just the US and a few other countries still use Farenheit :)

We don't get any snow here...at least none that lies for any length of time. We're a fairly small low lying rock surrounded by sea so there isn't anywhere on the island more than a mile from the north sea in any one direction... persistent gale or storm force winds and freezing rain/sleet/hail are the norm in winter. Last year the air and sea temperatures were so unusually cold that the sand on the northern beaches were frozen into ice by freezing sea spray and the tide coming in was all icy sea-slush...pretty weird.

How long before Mr Roberts demands a switch to the Unreal engine?

Talking of Unreal, I can imagine poor Chris salivating over the thought of having the faithful stump up for his own virtual production studio. Boring mocap is so 2012, all the cool kids are working live in-camera these days. He could get all his A-List actor chums back in, like Sandi "Making of Star Citizen"* Gardener.

* that's actually a thing?? I only intended to pick one of her handful of z-list roles.
