I doubt this. Can we see some of his work?
Since he posts his work to Artstation under his real name, no, not without doxxing him and myself.
I doubt this. Can we see some of his work?
So you have to approach SC like they did withThis is the saddest thing ive ever heard. Truly sad. Saved here for posterity.
Though doing a double take, how much of this is going on in our own back yard? .....
As someone pointed out, if you remember from some old mocap and Chris-madlibs-freely sessions, those are their car keys.Yeah, who brings spears to gun fights?
This is the saddest thing ive ever heard. Truly sad. Saved here for posterity.

I can't imagine what it would be like for anyone that takes star citizen seriously in 2020. Imagine if those people suddenly realised themselves what was going on but then kept doing it.
I doubt this. Can we see some of his work?
..... Personally I find the claim that somebodies son is able to reproduce animations or avatars equal to SCs fidelity level vastly more believable than what CIG claims even without evidence. ....
This is flirting with insanity. Odyssey is a fantasy and won't surpass (as if it was the purpose) SC because SC will always be a dream. This is the saddest thing ive ever heard. Truly sad. Saved here for posterity.

After watching closely several times the clip, I'll play the devil's advocate on this one though:That isn't even at the level of Unreal.
From 1998.
I find it quite unreal, really. That isn't even at the level of Unreal.
From 1998.
It looks dated. Half a decade, I'd say. After watching closely several times the clip, I'll play the devil's advocate on this one though:
- First strike misses because the player dodged/dashed, good point
- Second animation is clearly late and/or AI didn't correct its orientation before striking, can be absolved
- Kick is totally stupid AI and feels not parametric but part of previous strike's animation clip, bad point
- Next strike looks like a heavy move and is easily dodged by the player strafing, can be absolved
- Next two strikes are really hitting, I guess, but there's no visual feedback (basically globally off as even player's gunfires doesn't show any), good points
- Last one is another heavy and so slow move that the player avoids by simply step back, can be absolved.
All in all, that's not the worst of what CIG showed us regarding AI. Now, I'd love to know the file's creation date, to know if it's Kythera or Subsumption in charge here...
Heyyyyy.....welcome to the other side of the fence Many of us doubt SC will ever be released or provide everything it promised and guess what....we are not given any proof that it is like the fanboys claim. All we can do is waiting and chosing to believe or not. Personally I find the claim that somebodies son is able to reproduce animations or avatars equal to SCs fidelity level vastly more believable than what CIG claims even without evidence. After all Star Citizens fidelity and unsurpassed visual glory is outdated since 2014 and today even CONSOLES (oh the shame) provide equal if not better visuals ^^ Guess you gonna have to wait and see
The reason it's the worst is because at no point does it indicate any awareness of the presence of the player beyond the occasional orientation alignment, to a level that I'd almost compare to Doom. In 1993. With sprites. It keeps looking at where the animation assumes the enemy should be; it snaps to pre-defined stances rather than flow from one movement to another; it seems to be completely devoid of any kind of IK other than maybe foot placement (but it's a flat surface so there's no good way to tell). It's stock animations rather than any attempt at reacting to the environment, including the opponent. After watching closely several times the clip, I'll play the devil's advocate on this one though:

From SA: Why are they attacking their their car keys?
For those who don't know, apparently the Vanduul use those spears to start and fly their spaceships. So, car key, joystick, melee weapon, ranged weapon, eating utensil.... its like a swiss army knife.
That isn't even at the level of Unreal.
From 1998.
That would be the first time ever they've done (and more importantly shown) anything like so while that would make sense, it doesn't fit with how CI¬G does things.Im specifically not impressed with visual fidelity, framerates or animations but seeing this is one of the rare unedited unpolished footage we get its probably excusable. If they test with such low-effort assets I m guessing we can expect rapid progress and more to come soon yes? Like weeks (this time for real) not months?
Exactly why I suspect it's old footage. That would be the first time ever they've done (and more importantly shown) anything like so while that would make sense, it doesn't fit with how CI¬G does things.
I for one find it OK for a spacesim. And an apparently tier-0-ish implementation. That might have been ok if this had been a God of War game, where you juggle a dozens of enemies at once and need clear tells from a far pulled back camera position. It doesn't quite work in a first-person, single-enemy-focus design.
Yeah, as always with CIG, you can smell the perfume of ripoff AUs away. The only sensible explanation (but not really excuse) is the recent talk about making SC “souls-like” now that the old spiel of being “more lethal than CoD” was proven completely nonsensical.
Still not released yet? Ok. Back to lurking...
