I don't see the problem here really, just copy the bindings, graphics take abou 25 seconds to set once and done as well... and since there are no game assets offered in a stupid shop for real cash appart from paintjobs, I assume it was a way for Fdevs to earn extra buck... I can live with that
1) It's a needless duplications of runtime (disk space).
2) It's a needless alternative icon/faff to choose whether to run X or Y or Z.
3) It's a needless faff of config. Change config on one copy, you have to mess about copying to the other installs.
4) I've already paid for DLC X, you have to buy it all over again? Multiple times?
5) Each runtime is unique so have to potentially pay for DLCs (eg: Odyysey) multiple times.
6) See how you get on ordering and installing multiple copies of the game from Steam. Can you?
I suspect FD would sell more additional "slots" if they simply did it in game in a nice controlled manner, instead of the half-baked messy current bodge.
Rather than FD gaining repeat sales of the game and ingame content (eg: paintjobs) I fully expect they end up not getting sales which should they have offered a refined ingame additional slot purchase method, they would.
Personally I know I would have purchased an extra slot years ago if it had been available. I don't want the above half dozen issues... Seems a needless mess.

Fair point... I'd suggest they'd end up selling more accounts, than they would game copies though....
And if you could do this with an ingame purchase of a "New CMDR slot" in your existing copy of the game, or had to buy a whole new copy of the game to install and maintain and pay to upgrade etc etc, which is most likely going to get you to do it, and which is most likely going to deter you?

Given the state they launched in? Hah. No. They are certainly in a better spot now but first impressions are killer.

TBH you get kicked from the starter systems after so many PvP kills. Tested it myself.

Indeed, but with a new free account i could clear save and star over again - or in this case you dont get to start in the starter systems anymore?
They own a lot of things - including some of the movies that you seen on the big screen in the last several years.

When you wipe, you wipe everything.

To be serious, Tencent does not have any control on Epic Games despite their investments.
