I don't see the problem here really, just copy the bindings, graphics take abou 25 seconds to set once and done as well... and since there are no game assets offered in a stupid shop for real cash appart from paintjobs, I assume it was a way for Fdevs to earn extra buck... I can live with thatStill bemused why FD have never offered integrated additional accounts for say £5-10 a pop, which you then simply select in the game's main menu. So all game settings, bindings, in game purchases (eg: paintjobs) and indeed the entire game version are them seemless around your multiple accounts.
1) It's a needless duplications of runtime (disk space).I don't see the problem here really, just copy the bindings, graphics take abou 25 seconds to set once and done as well... and since there are no game assets offered in a stupid shop for real cash appart from paintjobs, I assume it was a way for Fdevs to earn extra buck... I can live with that
I suspect FD would sell more additional "slots" if they simply did it in game in a nice controlled manner, instead of the half-baked messy current bodge.
Fair point... I'd suggest they'd end up selling more accounts, than they would game copies though....they will gain probably the same money, but with the current system they can say - we sold 3 millions game copies
which sounds more impressive than we sold 3 millions accounts
And if you could do this with an ingame purchase of a "New CMDR slot" in your existing copy of the game, or had to buy a whole new copy of the game to install and maintain and pay to upgrade etc etc, which is most likely going to get you to do it, and which is most likely going to deter you?i get Your point. It would make things easier. I would love to be able to start a new character with odyssey and try ON FEET ONLY which they say will be entirely feasable
This has literally zero relevance to why I don't like Epic Game Store. For those that say they don't like Epic take a look at the Unreal Engine 5 video demo of what they will have coming out early next year. And you will be able to use that software for free.

Given the state they launched in? Hah. No. They are certainly in a better spot now but first impressions are killer. You don't trust Epic Store? Why? I'd suggest Google or social media apps are far more of a concern/risk?
Lol don't they also own part of FD?That's great, but I don't trust the Epic Store (Tencent owns 40%) so I'll stick to Steam.
Yes, they do.Lol don't they also own part of FD?
TBH you get kicked from the starter systems after so many PvP kills. Tested it myself. So a week of carnage in the starter zone, with elite pilots "masquerading" as harmless?
Excellent fun.
They are like the Disney of videogames.Lol don't they also own part of FD?
You mean unlike the 9% they bought at FDEV?That's great, but I don't trust the Epic Store (Tencent owns 40%) so I'll stick to Steam.

You do get to wipe and start in starter, true.Indeed, but with a new free account i could clear save and star over again - or in this case you dont get to start in the starter systems anymore?
There is no free Elite on Steam ¯\(ツ)/¯That's great, but I don't trust the Epic Store (Tencent owns 40%) so I'll stick to Steam.
I trust you don't play any of these games then:That's great, but I don't trust the Epic Store (Tencent owns 40%) so I'll stick to Steam.
