Only issue with that is it locks it down to same platform only. Gone is the only cross-play teamwork we do have. Unintended consequence but added a sour taste for me, luckily found plenty who were open but maybe werent as chatty or active. I've never been excluded by a Cmdr at a Community Goal before for playing on console, Ive missed out maybe coz I havent been on PC but never been excluded.

Edit: Allowing me to join more than one squadron would fix this btw.

Sorry about that but when the carrier was open to all, it was pounced upon by hordes of commanders as soon as it arrived in the CG area, meaning those of us that had spent time loading it weren't getting any benefit from doing so. Do that a few times and you've got no crew wanting to load the carrier, as they'd all be better off just waiting for one to arrive.

Not by any means an ideal solution but that's due to the game's design.

I got cleaned out in minutes. My carrier is open-access.

Loading it was another story...

FCs are not the problem, Its the broken economy that made FCs dime a dozen. I think price points are fine for them and the maint fee is ok. The way that credits are earned and the amounts has made it to where everyone can become billionaires in short order, the current open a system map and see 50 FC in an area in the blink of an eye. Don't think that was the intended idea of them. If the economy stays such as it is, then FCs need to have a steep fee for not sitting stationary, but for quick jumps back and forth. Sure you wanna jump it 2 or 3 times in a day, fine. Anymore than that needs to come with stiff cost or cool down IMO...

Dont get me wrong, I'm loving the buzz coming back to this game with lore and CGs exe. Lets shoot for some balance... ( not Fdevs strong point )

no commander should be able to own a private FC. It should be a group effort to buy and maintain one.

I did wonder how commanders were finding carriers to unload so fast - when I looked on Inara for some likely candidates, they were either sold out, or didn't allow docking when I went to investigate. That's why I signed up as crew with one, so I could spend my time loading & unloading, rather than searching.

I was on Discord, using the tools available there. There are not the ingame tools needed for carriers to contact customers, except by the chat window. Pretty cumbersome, and possibly intrusive. Spamming the local system with messages is not the best way to advertise.

That the forum was more effective for me to help players than the game could is a statement.
Particularly as they would get totally lost in the chattering of the AX crowd as soon as they came on line.

That ship sailed a long time ago. Whether that was due to forum whinging or in-house reasons who can be bothered nowadays.

More players = more paintjobs and outfits = more arx = more income for the developers
Squadron only FCs = human psychology wins to own one = large community groups are broken to pieces = 1000 new tiny one person squadrons with alt accounts
Other limitations for ownage = high maintenance fees = Public Beta 1 feedbacks = rage of players = no arx sellings = no income

... and that is why there is no point in adding extra module storage - packrats gonna packrat :D
Found out. Give me more slots in the storage, a way to sort / search it, the ability to see the Fighter type loaded into Hangars and the details on Engineering and Experimental effects on all stored modules.

List of ships that fit a class 5 FSD:

  • Alliance Challenger
  • Alliance Chieftain
  • Alliance Crusader
  • Asp Explorer
  • Diamondback Explorer
  • Federal Assault Ship
  • Federal Dropship
  • Federal Gunship
  • Imperial Clipper
  • Krait Mk II
  • Krait Phantom
  • Orca
  • Python
  • Type-7 Transporter

I wonder if the combined effect (+15% optimal mass from Faster Boot, +55% optimal mass from Increased Jump Range) will allow an explorer ship to reclaim the highest possible jump range that the multipurpose anaconda currently holds.

Thanks

Where do you purchase this special FSD?
You don't
The Gift will be placed in storage... for those in the CG top 25%... ;)

the top 25% of pilots a fully engineered long range fast boot, size 5 FSD which will be placed in storage in the Spirit of Nysa by the 21st of November 3306.

Transfer to your current location after release or wait till outfitting is enabled and collect from megaship..

Depends on your method.

I'd have non-FC owners help me fill my cargo hold, and we'd all sell to my FC at 1000%. Then when I'd fly it to the coalsack, I'd set it to friends/squadmates only, and set buy price to 1000%. That means it benefits folks to not take more than what they put in themselves unless they want to effectively pay the group top dollar for their goods.

On another note when I was doing loads solo I made like 400 million plus each load I took over to sell at 1000%. So it's nice to see something tasty like that for FC owners, even if it means doing 30 transport runs to fill her up xD

That sounds sensible and the owner of the carrier I was working with did something similar, with pricing set so that pilots made a big profit loading it up and a small one unloading at the CG. Wouldn't solve the problem if left open to allcomers though, as CG goods were selling irrespective of price - I suspect most pilots, myself included were more concerned with tonnage, than making money on this CG, though the couple of hundred million credits I made was a nice bonus ;)

It did look like a nice way for FC owners to make a some extra money while doing the CG and I've no problem with that, they were in (most cases) providing a useful service and did have costs to pay, in terms of Tritium and maintenance costs.

Some were selling at 119 Cr, one I wasn't sure if mistake or not but the others I know were donating it for the Community. If we weren't racing there'd be more incentive to team up at both ends and take it in turns. 2 or 3 FCs just shuttling between 2 systems with people waiting at both ends.

Ive deliberately quoted these 2 out of context, but its how I read it and thought it was funny, thought 'good advice' :).

Oh you are so innocent, it isn't even December yet. There's still plenty of time in 2020 for all kinds off gharstely creatures from before the dawnatimes to start waving their lightyears long tentacles from beyond Mars, and I'm not talking in-game.

yep FC were giving content away on the last day as It was getting hard to get people to unload while it was EU dinner/tea time..
