Newcomer / Intro What are you up to?

My little Alt experiment is going quite well. Those delivery missions have turned out to be very easy, and very lucrative. He's already flying a Krait Phantom and sitting on over 60 million in assets.

I remember how long it took me to get 60 million credits back in the day. It was a heck of a lot longer than the 9 or so hours I have in this new guy. I guess those days are well and truly gone, now. :)

Plus he made "Broker", even though he's made zero trades in zero markets. And he ranked up in the Empire somehow. :)

Check out his new rebuy! :p

Meh. Windows has done some kind of update and messed with things.
1/.Bingley bongley sound going off in the background intermittently, think it's some Bluetooth stuff.
2/. When I shut the PC down, the silly lights on the motherboard stay on (and they're now blue instead of orange).
Yes, small problems, but I find this stuff very annoying because this is all time that could be spent flying spaceships!
So instead of terrorising the Coalsack Nebula, I shall be rooting about in the loft for the Mb manual and software disk. Grrr!

Cor blimey, guv. Each mission target is 26kls apart... yes, checking those CZs.

This mamba is hot :poop:

EDIT And done. 13m in the end after bonuses. What was interesting was that, when entering the instances, there were about 6 ships. Shooting one did not attract the wrath of the others. One would have thought they'd gang up. Still, their loss :devilish:

The current CG isn't appealing to me at the moment - which may well change - so I think I'll see what else comes along.

Yes I do those massacre missions pretty often (basically always have one of the seven day ones open, do a few as and when I'm passing, banks me 20-50m cr a week and keeps my combat ranking moving in the right direction (20% towards Deadly, so pretty slow going!) - it seems pretty random, whether they all gang up or let you pick them off one at a time. Entirely random. They're almost always threat 3 or 4. The ships involved are often similar, the difference often seems to be down to the level of ganging upness.

The first NS supercharge:

Coffee spilled laughing at that. o7

Quite - 36m a pop is not uncommon now, for one jump in a Python. Crazy. Can buy a Krait Phantom hull per run!!

Currently sitting aboard Gnosis B in KOI 413 waiting for the Gas Giants of Rhubarb and Custard to collide.
Only going to be glancing blow today according to the orbital mechanics dudes, the head on crash is expected for July.

Some Video of the event

Some of the work someone else had to do. All I did was get a lift on a FC and watch.
yes, I was reading some of the webpages here yesterday, are you following me.............Back off :)
nice site btw.

I decided to take a massacre mission, and see what they are like now.

I found a nice small one, 7 pirates. Once I arrived at the mission signal source, sure enough 7 pirates were there. I got 7 messages the instant I arrived saying stuff like "Hauling anything good?"

I had nothing in my hold so they scanned me and then they all just...wandered around, doing nothing.

I picked out one and shot at it, and we engaged in combat, but the others didn't join in. They just continued to wander about aimlessly. One of them jumped away.

I engaged the others one by one, until I had 6 kills, but I needed 7 and the other guy was gone.

I went back to supercruise and found another signal source --- waaay over there. But it did contain more pirates.

It was a weird way to make 5 mill. I think the scripting on these missions needs some TLC.

'Bingly-bingly beep!'*
Still discovering Ammonia worlds for the CG. Finding lots of undiscovered and unmapped stuff. Best finds, ringed ammonia and a binary pair. Lots of water world's too.
Completely forgot about the new alt, I might get her to do the CG too, despite the noob jump range.(Edit: I caved and let her buy an AspX, but she's got to earn Arx, that stock paintjob is embarrassing!).

Watched Armageddon, haven't seen it in years... I want those drilling rigs! New drilling SRV! Make it happen FDev!

*Yes, still. Dis-organiser MkII.

7A drill module for an SRV! That one needs to go in the suggestions forum! (y)

Do previously discovered ones count? I was halfway out to Arm's End and came back when I heard about this CG. Dumped a ton of data to find out I only had three ammonia worlds :(

Yes, sometimes you jump in and the pirates are part-way through attacking a convoy, which is both more realistic and more challenging (can't jsut shoot anybody!), which works better. I prefer taking massacre missions either during a war (23m cr for 42 kills last night, and I was going to hit the CZs anyway, so it's free money) or in a Haz Res (again, free money while i rank up my combat).

Combat rebalancing has helped the finances...now at 93% Deadly.
Mostly done with Gimmbly Denis, still occasionally taking damage but surviving . And a little Hoovering for mats.
All done at the same High RES, no thargoids were harmed in making this rank progression.
...Film at 99%.....I hope!

Oh LOL!
Just now I came out of SC into Cavalieri Station - it dropped me face first right into one of the Noob-Hammers!
Literally - I drop out and WHAM! I got whacked like a Joe Carter home run and batted halfway to the next system.
:ROFLMAO:
I've considered doing a cover of Peter Gabriel's song, Sledgehammer, and changing it to Noob Hammer. It's what I hear in my head whenever I see a station with them :)
