A lot of comments about the graphical upgrades, but it doesn't look radically different than what we have now, just a more zoomed in set of LODs and some updated effects really.
I still see areas that probably looked better in the initial
Horizons game, before they decided to replace a lot of geometry with textures to improve performance.
Not saying it doesn't look good, but it's a clear evolution of what we've got and some of the skepticism about it being in-game footage seems pretty silly to me.
you're mental if you think anyone would pre-order based on that. what a disappointment.
After watching Frontier spend five and a half years undermining spaceship combat in their spaceship game, I'm ready for at least six-months of good FPS combat before they inflate it into oblivion in their FPS game.
And I already pre-ordered it when I bought my LEP, six years ago.

Exploration is often about finding stuff worth fighting over.
I also want to say that at least exploration will still be there once the combat is ruined, but who knows. Anyway, I will binge the combat as much as I can, if only so that I have material for another five years of ranting about how good of an FPS it used to be after I'm forced to put my CMDR out to pasture as an amateur geologist and BGS grunt.
Know that there are true fans out there and we appreciate and love what you are doing.
A 'true fan' is often a hopeless sycophant that could mistake urine and gruel for nectar and ambrosia. Anyone that listens to 'true fans' is being led into a trap where what should be criticized is met with fawning adoration.
Frontier doesn't need my encouragement, they already have my money.

Apparently the alpha (which is very misleading imo), but when is the full release projected to drop?
Misleading? Acknowledging the release as an alpha is the most bluntly honest thing I can remember Frontier ever doing.

Elite: Dangerous for more than six years.
But alpha is not launch. IF it was it means that Star citizen has been released for years and I don't think anyone believes that.
Traditionally, you have to be feature complete to move from alpha to beta.
When did this game become feature complete?
