I have just purchased the pre-order of Odyssey and the game still runs for me..

After purchase in steam, is it suppose to state in DLC tab that Odyssey is Not Installed? I mean steam did download the 5GB update...
it`s the same for me -The deluxe steam preorder broke the launcher. Can't login to play anymore
From what I can tell the Launcher is "out of date" as when I check the Launcher version it prompts me to download a newer version" separate from steam
Can confirm that the new launcher downloaded from the prompt allows a login

Pre-order link error when trying to finally purchase. Gives no change of payment method options. Just crashes without confirming what payment you are using.

No, the reason for pre-order is that the day of release you will already have it downloaded and installed and will be able to play immediately. Other than that you are correct, if you don't want the pioneer skin and don't mind waiting for it to download (maybe you have a fast connection, many people don't) then there's no reason. I wish the pre-order came with more value, many other MMO's provide a lot of extra content for pre-orders, oh well!

Hey @Mr T, if you pre-order the standard Elite Dangerous Odyssey expansion you will receive the expansion and the exclusive 'Pioneer' suit skin.
Ok. Are you able to show us what the 'Pioneer' suit skin looks like? or will that be coming?
Purchased on (Pre-Alpha Deluxe Edition) Steam, installed and now the launcher (even upgrading to a newer version) does not launch me into the game. While I am really looking forward to this, does anyone actually test things before deploying into the wild? Had I known there was issues (here's an idea, take it off the Steam store so others do not zapped with this as well) I would have waited.

So how do the different access levels from the lifetime expansion pass (and e.g. the beta access pass) translate into Odyssey?

It was a nice short trailer, but honestly I still haven't seen enough to make me want to buy Odyssey.
I'd like to see some non-combat gameplay and details. So far it's all seemed rather combat oriented. Any new ships? Any new SRV's? Any improvements to exploration's FSS? Will salvaging get new gameplay and if so can we see some of it? Any passenger gameplay changes?
Q1 2021 is only three months away now, I really hope we start seeing more of the game real soon.
