Update 1.4.2 Out Now! 🦦

Multi-select for Franchise Mode Animal Storage - we are aware people have been experiencing issues with it. We have removed it for now, but we're aiming to release Update 1.4.3 early next year and we're looking to include a solution for the Multi-select in that update.
THANK YOU. God that was annoying. Maybe instead have it where you need to double click each animal if you want to select them all?

OR

Have it where you click "select all" at the top then little boxes appear on the corners of each animal and you select the one's you want?
 
I was hoping that they would revert that update change that makes Animal Storage not allow us to send over 50 animals to storage anymore. Here is the feature that we lost: Placing animals in the Storage allowed their aging to be "paused". In my Sandbox Zoo, I have every animal and every baby animal. Sandbox allows you to either pause ageing for all all animals or none. You cannot individually choose animals for their ageing to be paused. If ageing is paused across the zoo, animals cant breed, but if ageing is not paused, animals can breed but will age and it is impossible to keep all the baby animals as babies. The way around this was to place animals you did not want to age in storage so that animals on the outside can age and breed, while keeping the animals in storage safe from ageing. Big Zoos will have more than 50 animals needed to be frozen while breeding occurs on the outside. This feature should be placed back in the game or please create a Sandbox option that allows either to pause aging individually for animals or allow a way for breeding to occur while ageing is paused.

I've had an Elephant sitting in my Storage for like 50 years I definitely need to the room. 🤣 They'll live forever if they try hard enough. 😆
 
Can someone please explain the issues with multi select to me. Cause i never had an issue with it and now my most used feature (i used it A LOT) is being ripped from the game and i cannot understand what issues there were?
 
me too? I've never had a single issue with multi select and now my most used feature from the game is gone probably permanently.
They're just figuring out how to make it better then will turn it on again. It's mostly bcuz you had to click an animal twice to deselect it which eventually can become annoying bcuz you want to compare stats but when you click on the second animal the stats aren't there bcuz you've still got the first animals selected. Plus bcuz of this people forget they had their best animals selected and ended up releasing them. So it's a nuisance atm. 😕

I wonder if i can block the update from my game because clicking each and ever one of the animals in a large habitat instead of groups of them is absolutely redundant and infuriating, especially when i'm shifting creatures around. I didn't even know people played this game like that. I'm so confused.

Wait what? They're talking about the storage mutli-select they added with the last update???

Yes. I am aware. And it has worked perfectly for me. i go in my animal storage, click a bunch of animals (same species or different) and move them. Basically this play style everyone but myself has is foreign to me so I never had issues with the feature cause I don't play like that? Someone mentioned double clicking animals and comparing stats or something. I didn't think the feature was THAT complex. But I am a simple player. I have 8 animals i want in quarantine. I click all 8 and drop them in quarantine. That's all I'm saying. these other things people are doing I've never even heard of. XD. That's why I said I feel like I'm playing a different game and My playstyle is apparently the extreme minority.

Yeah it was irritating before the multi-select came in. The way it worked was helpful but unhelpful at the same time bcuz of the reasons I mentioned. You prob saw my comment about double clicking. But I also mentioned that they could also have it where you click the "Select All" button at the top and then small boxes would appear next to the animals pictures or something and you would pick all the one's you want instead of having it select them all automatically and small ticks would appear in the little boxes.
 
It's nice to see the guests looking at the underwater viewing areas! It was always depressing to see everyone avoid the very thing I spent hours making to stick with the upper level views, lol.

Really next year :oops: means that i'm going to release some 230 Flamingo's in the wild instead of selling them on the franchise market....
 
Thank your for the quick update!!!

Will we get a fix for these two things too:

  • a lower depth for the animals so that we don't have to build 4-5 m into the deep, this is unrealistic, especially for otters
  • a better view through the glasses, the water looks so dirty, maybe clearer water or different windows as an option

And please please please give us the barriers from Planco, so that we can stop it, that guest are going through scenery, buildings etc
 
Thank you for these quick (and useful!) updates. AND for the special note about the roadmap for 1.4.3 for the franchise storage multi-select.

Many players have noted in the past how helpful it is to know that something is being worked on -- even if the solution hasn't arrived yet or is still being figured out. For folks like me, who use the franchise storage in both of the ways that players have described in this thread, that note brightened my day. Just to know that something is in the works. Thank you!

And can I add that I absolutely love that my guests may begin using their underwater viewing options more often!
 
Thank you for disabling the multiselect, it was driving me nuts to a point where I didn't want to play anymore. It would be better if you added a little window to tick in if you wanted to select more than one animal, or double click to multiselect.
 
The game still crashes a whole bunch on my big zoo! I’ll be patient though my smaller zoos work better
Yes, I've been building a zoo with at least 15 habitats so far. As soon as I added one diving animal (croc) the whole thing started lagging like crazy. I'll submit this as a bug, but I just thought I'd share in case anyone else was having the same issue.

(I have to wait to play anyway because I have such a big Zoo, I cant add any more animals without the textures becoming blurry due to hitting the Limit of VRAM, according to Frontier Support and I now require the RTX 3090 which has more VRAM then my current RTX 2080 TI.)
Another one of my long time requests for sandbox mode is indeed an option to just turn the aging off and have a seperate option for the breeding, I too would love my animals to still breed and have babies but keep the aging turned off, I do a lot of story telling in a a very long video series I'm making and since we dont have these options its been on hold for like a year already until we get this option, same goes for the much requested ribbon barriers from Planco since no one wants to see guests walking though objects like fountains, lamp posts, walls etc. And still missing the No litter option since no one wants to see litter everywhere when watching a video or see like a 100 janitors walk around just because guests make so much garbage. Hope we really get these options along with a new option so we dont have to place that new water temp regulator then I can finally turn my Zoo Channel series back in full gear soI can plan the series release, did the same way back for Zoo Tycoon and made a 3 year running series which was fun.
 
After actually building a functioning habitat ready for deep swimming, I think this whole thing with unrealistic water deph for caimans and otters is even worse with the aquatic animals having only one food enrichment and that is the underwater box feeder. It makes the underwater habitats even more distant from reality, because the feeder wont work even in 4 m deep water. So if you want your animals to be fully happy, you have to have even deeper water that looks kind of off for otters and caimans.

Please Frontier, if the deep swimming is limited by technical reasons, at least give the new animals more food enrichment options, because right now we have to build like 6 m deep water for caimans or otters to be able to use the box feeder, while there is no other option.
