High Grade Emissions spawn rate?

Honestly farming HGEs is easy work, find one with a long timer (25/30 minutes) drop there collect logoff totally from the game, login again enter SC and the HGE will spawn again on your back, rinse and repeat like usual, with on HGE on long timer you can top off its Mats for the duration.State War/Civil War/Boom/Imperial systems.
Yeh. They're going to fix that I'm thinking. And if they actually make it more fun then rightly so.

Right off the bat though... If I find an HGE, that should have a lot more mats to collect. But turn it into something more fun. Scan a data point that gives you coordinate to find more...

I got tired of flying around and finding nothing. 🤷‍♂️

I've been using EDDB, filtering by allegiance, state and population, and following this guide. Will try Inara to see if I get different results.

Single star, I hadn't thought of that. Thanks! :)

EDIT: fixed the quote.

Blod might be a good candidate, it seem to have a single faction in Outbreak and no other states
Chayansi, although you might get some HGE at 30-40000 ls
Rakkaiadi, high pop and a single faction in Outbreak

and so on :)

I'm going to try this method next time I need some.

But I'll say this, it's never a case (for me) of the wrong faction state. It's never seeing an HGE at all.

I do a lot of passenger missions for Exquisite Focus Crystals ans Biotech Conductors and then just trade down when they get full.

HGE's + Credits

A decent Orca works very well

I gave up long ago looking for particular G5s.
I go to Tchernobog and scan the nav beacon for HGEs and am usually successful in finding them. Imperial Shielding only, no grade four contaminents.

Then trade. Be sure to use collector limpets.

My other source is Anacondas from pirate massacre missions.

Build a vette with:
biweave shields
2xC1 & 2xC2 beams LRTV
C3 MC hi cap corrosive
2x C4 MC hi cap auto loader
C6 fighter
Balanced boosters
KWS
5B collector
At least 100 cargo filled with limpets
Long range sensors
And the rest per your preference.

fly to a haz res near a station with a MFR mat trader and stop near ground zero

deploy fighter

2-0-4 pips

open cargo hatch

just sit there and shoot all wanted ships out to your 6km range. Keep 3 limpets deployed. They will get mats up to 1800 m away. In an hour (or when you get full or tired) you will still have MC ammo and limpets and you will have obtained TONS of mats and a fair amount of bounties. For juicy targets out of range send your fighter to agro then recall into range

fly to the station and sell bounties. Trade full mat bins down for the more rare stuff. Don’t leave any bins full. Rinse and repeat. This method collects gargantuan amounts of mats and you can painlessly trade for G5 MFR mats. Also as you scan each ship you will also get huge amounts of encoded mats. Trade full bins of those down as well. Trade encoded mats for MEF and to a lesser extent DWE (because you can get those by scanning wakes at a busy place pretty easily).

you will learn over time which mfr mats are most likely in a haz res. They literally fill up amazingly fast.

Next! Now serving customer #42...

I've been sitting in HIP 114135 for almost two hours and not a single HGE has spawned in that time. Not one.

All others have spawned at an average 5-10 min intervals, some even two at time, but not HGEs.

I've relogged several times –both to main menu and desktop– but nothing seems to work. HGEs simply will not spawn.

And yes, I've tried other systems in the past couple of days with the same result.

Is there a particular pattern to them? Longer spawn interval? Or is it yet another RNG curse?

Two hrs? During that time, you just could find any random 30+min HGE anywhere, use certain trick to farm at that single HGE until you got full of whatver it was inside, then trade it at material trader for whatever you needed. You aint gonna need more than 10-15 Pharmaceutical Isolators per ship to max it at G5.

The problem is, we can't prove a negative. There are still players adamant HGEs spawn in outbreak systems. I'm not convinced though. Largely because no one has actually shown that to be true, just said so.

Just found today. 3rd HGE, 2nd System. 1st one popped because I spent too long scanning the system. Did take a while but definitely possible, but it's a rare mat, not something I can pick up at the local K-mart. 🤷‍♂️

That's the reason then. They barely spawn HGEs any more. It's probably a bug (but you'll get told it's fine).

It's not fine though. I'd recommend trading for them.
It's not just that they barely spawn HGE's. The ones that do spawn almost never contain them, even when they're in the right state. This has been broken for a long time, too.

Is there a method to the madness, though? As in "go look for them here for a higher probability", or is it just utterly random?

Because I've been going for the systems that were, according to "conventional wisdom", more likely to have them and have found none, even after having jumped for hours between a dozen "likely" systems. I mean, it's no big deal, I only need them for dirty drives and I don't need 30 different ships, a handful does me fine, I'd just like for it to be a way to know where to look for them and where not to look. :)

Ofc there is. I just posted mine earlier in this thread.
And it works, at least for me. Maybe because i dont expect results at first attempt. Usually takes me several full loops - but i did said they are some of the rarest of the lot.

Even tho, i dont usually go for the lower tiers. I went to dav's hope only twice i think. All my lower grad materials are coming from G5 trade down.
See below, my Steam alt inventory as he prepares for another HGE trip

Yes you found some and probably you'll have to wait 12 years for the next lucky strike, that's the problem ;)
That's the thing tho. People say you can't find Arsenic - never had a problem. People say you can't find Selenium - never had a problem. People say Pharma Isos are broken. Find some in the third HGE. Maybe I'm very, very, lucky...and yet still no lottery win. 😂

I find those easy too.

LIttle bit of a strawman though. Because those people say that doesn't make the issue at hand any less valid.

Although no one ever takes a screen shot of the HGEs with PIs in, I'm not saying they never pop. Just that the rarity is excessive compared to how it was. Needlessly so.

Look 2 posts above that one.
Yeh I missed that post. As I said, not saying they don't pop (you're the first to show they still do since these posts have cropped up) but they're too rare. I've not seen one since I came back to the game.

Fdev are aware of how grindy mats gathering is and they've actually said they're looking into it. This is a very good example and needs to be front and centre. You're welcome to disagree of course.

You are doing it wrong. The only way to find HGEs is to determine what material you are looking for and filter the galaxy map by the criteria that are required for that particular HGE. Then plot a course jumping to only those type of systems.

In every new system, scan the beacon, check for hge's. If you find one with more than 18 minutes left, farm it until it disappears (quit to desktop before leaving the HGE, reload the game to the same mode you just quit, supercruise, and drop back into the HGE that is right behind you - it will contain the same G5 mats for until the timer runs out). Repeat until you have maxed out those G5s and then go find a different type. By farming, it takes one HGE to obtain 100 G5s in about 10-15 minutes.

I farm the most common (imperial shielding, core dynamics composites) and then just trade them for the rare stuff like Pharma Isolators. You never need 100 PIs, so farm Imperial shielding for 15 minutes (which you can find everywhere!), and trade for 16 PIs. Done.

Do the exact same thing for data and raw. Farm the common, trade for the rare. Super fast and easy.
