if you add new ships without nerfing FDL or buffing rest you practically remove old ships from game, i would say that we need balance pass before adding new stuff. But again, we should start from touching core mechanics that make FDL so strong rather than touching spreadsheet data. I m curious about effect of weakening upfront shieds with boosters nerf combined with weakening feedback cascade effect at the same time. My opinion of the FDL has changed. Rather than nerf it, buff the Mamba a little bit so as to make it equal but different than the FDL. Then folks can have two good choices for medium combat ships. Hell, I would even go so far as to make the Clipper a medium ship and give players THREE choices for medium combat ships.
Max 4 skill boosters per ship will fix so many problems
Well, it does have a weakness. Terrible jump range. Although, like all problems, you can just engineer it away, lol.
the fdl is basically a mamba with training wheels, c'mon...
Also note the fact that the fdl is difficult to master, you are getting smacked by fdl flyers because they already had more experience not because of their "holy fdl" they fly the fdl because of the high skill ceiling it gives you. Way higher than a chieftain or a fas which although are fun ships they are easier to fly opposite to the fdl i fly both of them and i have wrecked both ships in both and got wrecked in both ships by both. Your carebear mind just cannot comprehend the fact that pvp in this game isnt only the "i get engineered ship and im good" thing it isnt it at all matter of fact. You actually have to get better at aiming, evasion and you have to get used to the ship too cuz all of them are different. Before you comment think about it and do your research among actual people that are good at the pvp part of the game, for example a NATO or Prism. Or even other pvp focused squadrons cuz although they arent the best at the game they are still usually above average and know more about pvp than most playersRight now if you want to pvp there is only one choice of ship that’s remotely viable and that’s the Fer De Lance , if you disagree you can take your “pvp corvette” into a cg system and see how long you last in the ocean of FDLs. I counted 12 Fdls in one instance the other night, no other pvp ships in sight
The FDL is way to op and needs more of a draw back, Here are some of my ideas:
-triple the price of the FDL,the increase in price could make dyeing in pvp less desirable due to a rebuy
- make the FDL slower but don’t touch the manoverablity
- buff the Mamba, why did you make this ship usesless fd?
-Remove a utility slot from the fdl
I know pvp/combat isn’t a “new feature” so fd is just going to ignore it , but I feel better posting this on the forums.
