Newcomer / Intro What are you up to?

Hmm. Seems there an infestation of scarlet kraits...

Anyway, in and around another abandoned base . Taylor Keep. The comms here give background to Jameson's mission and a right smarmy git was telling me about it. I hope the Thargoids got 'im.

And a few seconds later, with 3 pips to shields and weapons, these blighters were no more and that scrap was mine, aaalll mine.

Greetings!

I am working on surveying two of the sectors that mark the end of the galaxy in the Sagittarius-Carina Arm region. So far I have found more ELWs and notable star phenomena:

250lyfromborder.jpg

This ELW is about 250 LY from the intergalactic border. Note the absence of stars in the background.

I have noted that the pioneers concentrated mainly on finding the absolute borders of the galaxy when they explored the galactic rim, but left vast areas behind these borders largely unexplored and undiscovered. This is the case of the Sagittarius-Carina Arm intergalactic border (based on the ED Astrometrics site). This is also true for much of the intergalactic border of the Hyeronimus Delta region (the Abyssal Plain according to the EDSM galactic map). However, the outermost sectors in the southern regions of the galaxy (Formidine Rift, Kepler's Crest) seem to have been already largely explored. As for the Abyss, when I headed directly south from Beagle Point on the way back to the bubble, every single system in the route that the route planner plotted was already tagged all the way to within a couple hundred light years into the Formorian Frontier. Only there was I alble to find untagged systems.

Another observation is that the Milky Way changes the way it looks depending on which border you are. For example, the view from Oevasy SG-Y d0 shows a white galaxy, largely devoid of any features:

Oevasysgydo1.jpg

and this is also true for the view from Beagle Point:

However, the view from the rim of the galaxy in the Sagittarius-Carina Arm region shows a galaxy with dust patches:

For the surveys, I concentrate solely on untagged, undiscovered worlds. When I am near the border, I rely on EDSM to see if the system has already been discovered. I input the system in question and if it appears on the database, then I know that someone has already been there and therefore skip it (unless its clearly a POI, like Beagle Point or Salome's Reach). This saves me jumponium mats. I am aware that not everyone submits data to EDSM but it has proven to be largely accurate in my case when it comes to finding whether the system I want to explore has already been tagged or not.

This survey will take several weeks, if not months, to complete. The hole I am filling is very large.

Scrump Landing. Very eerie but the comms sounded like Harold Steptoe had been resurrected and shot into space.

Looks like there're some NHSS's in this system too. Need to assess the threat level and take a look. Moist von Limpwig hasn't seen any action for a while so it's time to lube up the AX MC's.

You have a great eye, Tyres, you post some great photos.

Just picked up a few more bounties on myself for another little spec ops, trying to pick up the biotech conductors needed to go on my Engineers supermarket sweep to soup the Krait II into a little combat monster.

The shard forest jaunt was effective, but goodness it got repetitive. I couldn’t face filling the bins by the time I got to the 6th planet... but at least I’ve got 4 rare raw mats fully stocked.

Just need some missions to finish this off.

Oh! I can hopefully ditch that nasty old Archon Delaine this cycle, once I’ve got some cytoscramblers out of him. Any thoughts on how many worth putting into storage?

I got twenty I think.
But that's because I like them and I hate swapping parts between ships.
If storage space for modules is an issue, buy a couple of vipers and fit them on to those.*
Point being, you can always sell them if you are not happy with them, but if you don't buy enough it's all the Powerplay rigmarole again.

Which reminds me, I think I need to go do some work for the blue haired bint.
The sooner I've got the goodies the sooner I can get back to the Archnom Burger Overlord. :ROFLMAO:
🍔🍔🍔

*I use two systems near Diaguandri. One is for storing ships which have all the spare modules, the other system is for discounted ship storage (from CGs etc).

When you get to the raw mat trader. You can trade 6 for 1 vertically in each columb. To get some of the other g5 mats..
I'm not sure you cmdr's have noticed this? ( cat out of the bag moment...)
If you move a lot of mats up and down , left and right, while at a mat trader.
They appear to be counted as something (trading points?) towards, ARX...ARX...ARX....ARX...
An easy way to max out ARX every week.

So I am trying to do the LYR powerplay to gain merits. Had already been pledged 8 weeks but couldnt be arsed most of the time.

Oh, I did the Franchise thingy last month, lets try the Contracts one even though its one more button click per 10 materials.... click click click zzzzzzzzz

Left station, called up the tab to see where I can deliver the Contracts to.... ...

Dafug! No expansion targets because nothing was prepped last cycle!!! Now what do I do with 410 tons of useless paper contracts???

Only dump em and waste my 4m+ creds... I never dumped stuff outside a station before and 410 tons of Sirius Contracts started stuttering the universe, the framerate threatened to crash the game and the warnings of 250 Cr fine per dump started spamming my screen.

Even after docking and picking up 410 tons of new Franchise Packages, the 250 Cr Fine warnings continued to spam. It spammed me until the next system 90+ LY away and even as I docked at the next station. Lets see if the spam continues after I next boot the game.

Really? I didn't know that! (y)

Yeah - it was detailed in the Arx earning guide in the sub-section of this forum, good to bring it up for people who were not aware:
