We don't, it explicitly states in our articles that we're non-hostile towards alien life unless directly attacked. We don't hunt thargoids.
The CI Articles of Association define CI as having a non-aggression stances towards Thargoids. As a group, CI do not attack the Thargoids. None of the systems under CI protection have thus far been subjected to Thargoid attack. Aggression towards the Thargoids by individual members is not grounds for dismissal, however. There is no grounds whatsoever for drawing the conclusion that CI is xenophobic.

If you would like to join CI, we require you to read and agree to the Articles of Association and post proof of allied status with at least one communist faction. We keep track of a lot of work that needs doing in order to effectively support communist factions, but we do not share operational details publicly.

CI associates are present in an additional 36 systems, and we have gained 46 landable assets and 15 new systems since the last update. 449.6 million workers newly control their own means of production.
I'm only a week old on E: D and completely new to groups... THIS one is really piquing my interest! But question (and I apologize if stupid, I'm still learning)... is this a group that participates as its own Private Group? Or is meta and exists beyond Open/Private/Solo?
Can a person belong to both this group and another (e.g. a PGS group for explorers, say)?

Hey! We don't have an active Private Group I think, but one can always be created between members if they want to go out mining in PG or something like that. We don't have a policy on what gamemode you should play, although most people play in open, you can play in PG and Solo as well.
And yes, you can belong to another squadron dedicated to exploration while also being a member here. If you are part of a notorious squadron we've had problems with in the past then this might be looked into in another way, but generally we have no problems with that.

Hey, quick question... how can I know exactly if a minor faction is communist or not?
For example, I'm looking at the factions of a system I'm heading to, and I want to decide if I should go ahead and trade in scanning data for creds now or hold onto it until I reach this faction that SOUNDS like it COULD be communist? But I'm not seeing anything to confirm or refute it.

It always says what government type it is right next to the name. You can also filter by government type in the galaxy map (take a look at the region around Manite in this mode!) and you can filter by government type on eddb.io in the faction page to see what holdings all of the communist factions have.

Is there somewhere I can post a question about flipping a system? I'm back at it trying to flip a specific one. I did go through a bunch of Jane's posts from different threads about the matter. I think I just need a couple pointers since the system is an usual situation (and why I got interested in it in the first place ).

Trying to get allied with 'The Shunned' minor faction
"The Shunned" is a non-player faction located in the asteroid base "New Growth" in the pencil nebula. This minor faction controls no stations, has no normal missions available , but strangely has passenger missions. However these missions are reputation locked, and therefore are not available...
