The Double Engineered FSD is Insane

I can confirm that you can add exp. On my AspX, the jump range increased from 73.5 ly to 75.8 ly by adding mass manager. The future's so bright, you gotta wear shades

Picked up my free FSD today, equipped to my Bubble Taxi takes me from around 60LY (was previously fully G5 engineered with Mass Manager) to 64LY.
Able to add Mass Manager to the new unit too, at Deciat - nice!
Bought 5 more for the current discounted “price”.
So 6 n total - AspX, Phantom, Krait Mk II, Chieftain, Python, DBX...
All use the C5 FSD on offer.
Happy days!

Does anyone know how long the discount last and how much higher the "price" will be once the discount is over?

This is the build of my exploration Krait Phantom: https://s.orbis.zone/cxe8

The only difference is that Coriolis doesn't include the new double-engineered class 5 FSD. If you put that on and put the Mass Manager experimental effect you'll get my results. I have to say this ship has been engineered to the extreme but still capable to do all exploration duties. It can also boost which was one of my goals to retain.

I bought about 5 of them yesterday. Most of my ships are clocking in at around a 3-6 LY increase. Later I'm going to experiment with one of them and take off the increased range mod and replacing it with shielded for one of my combat ships. If coriolis is correct I will only loose about 4 LYs for my bounty hunting chieftain.

I just got my double engineered (grade 5 long range + fast boot) FSD and I was stunned by how better it is than my already grade 5 long range engineered one. The optimal mass value is way higher so my jump range immediately increased significantly. I went and put Mass Manager experimental effect on it and it became even more insane.

Previously my exploration Phantom could jump 67.71 Ly with a full fuel tank. Now... 👀

I already went and unlocked another one from the Tech Broker. This will help a LOT with future exploration trips.

Can you do a screen grab from the outfitting -> Core Internals -> FSD -> Show Modifications screen to show the specific stats of this FSD. Cheers

Here you go:

I have a number of ships I bought "just because" that now serve as module storage. They have 5A vanilla FSDs on them. Just upgrading my main ships to the double-engineered flavour and will switch my long-range/mass-manager ones into my module storage ships and sell their vanilla drives. Just need to park my butt outside Jamesons and scan some wakes

Yesterday I tried scanning wakes. I went to several Famine systems and looked for "distribution thingies", but found none. Then I went to Jameson's crashed Cobra, and that got me all the data I needed pretty quickly. I had to trade them, but I can always go back for more. Board flipping is stupid and it makes you feel stupid as well, but it works.

Nice build there cmdr. Was updating my phantom over the weekend.
What mods are you running on your shields?
I down sized to a C3 bi weave and added L5 enhanced low power and it reduced the mass by 50% plus stripped down experimental. Adds quite a bit to the jump range with new Fsd
It's a regular shield generator with grade 5 enhanced low power and stripped down experimental. I really just need it for an accidental bump into a station or a harder than usual landing.

I'm puzzled as to why this FSD would be better than my previously engineered maxed out 5A FSD that that increased range with mass manager. Quick charge should have any impact in jump range should it?

I've just had a look at the tech broker in LFT926 and they don't appear to carry this FSD. Are there only certain places I can get it or do I have to visit somewhere specific to unlock it first?
