Why not?

I wouldn't say I believe this but I certainly wouldn't rule it out whatsoever. Think about some of the engineers. We have a Jameson, a Ryder, Felicity Farseer. I would assume it's obvious that Liz Ryder is a member. I also wouldn't bat an eyelash to find out Lori Jameson was a member too and Farseer definitely knows something she isn't telling. Not to mention the rest. They are all essentially the best of the best at what they do.

But I think ruling something out completely without verifiable proof of the contrary is a very bad idea
Maybe "believe" TDW would simply just be more engineers was the wrong word - "hope not" perhaps?

I could see some (or even all) of them being TDW members, but I really hope that TDW as an organisation/station etc just doesn't turn out to be more engineers that unlock each other along the way. Because that would suck.

Just to emphasize that when I mentioned the engineer's bases being visible for you only after receiving information about it or getting invited is a way of pointing out that the same game mechanics may also be applicable to the hidden Dark Wheel Station, which we won't get any signal source to lock-to-drop until someone actually finds it (then shares its location) or gets a formal in-game invitation...

So, question for Simulcrae or anyone poking around Adamastor or Hesperus. Anyone know what the jump range of a Lowell Class Science Vessel is? 500LY?

Also, does anyone know if the Synufe listening post has actually been decoded yet (assuming there is a message still there)? About to head out there.

I always find it very curious how quickly these things are found, currently at HIP 33386 retracing the route, and looking at how many unexplored Type K star systems are nearby that might have been that listening post, yet someone managed to find that specific one within a day or two. OK, sure, someone might have already had it mapped to be able to see the system information and number of planets very quickly (or perhaps used EDSM searches or the like although that feels too much like a word I probably can't use here for me). Ah well, maybe I will stumble across something leading to the Hesperus if I retrace the route before the all-seeing eyes of Canonn, CoR, and file-delvers do.
Interesting - ya i dont know anything about jump rage for the Lowell Class - I think they specified that the Adamastor was fueled for a 370 ly trip. However the Adamastor went much further (refuels?) . Also looking at the beginning of its trip from Chuckchan it goes to HIP 39748 and 33386 before ending up at the Listening Post ( Jumps of roughly 121,90 and 154 ly)... Since Hesperus was described as a "sister" ship i imagine it was similarly fueled and would have similar jump ranges .... but ya who knows

Ya Im working off of two possible routes - either they were both heading towards WitchHead/Barnards Loop on the initial route and Adamastor diverted.... or they were heading different directions with Hesperus heading possibly towards the Lupus Dark Region (Would possibly explain the Adamastors not direct route back to Chuckchan)...

Happy Hunting !

I know what you mean. But I think because of the translation you didn't quite understand me.
About engineers I wrote in the sense that above was suggested the idea that you can not find a station without getting an invitation ...
That the engineers (some of them) can be members of the Dark Wheel is a good idea. But I say that even if it is true, we will not get direct evidence of it ! Otherwise the mystery of the Dark Wheel will be known all over the Internet.

I think there was a different video before that where he says 'you might receive an invitation from a certain secret organization' (paraphrasing) for some reason between both of those I made the connection that the engineers may be TDW members
Your recollection Filythymick is spot on.

It's a while back (Feb 2020) that I posted this one...

I think Down to Earth Astronomy did a good synopsis of the state of the Decoding. I get the feeling it isnt fully decoded though.

@clavain that DTEA summary is good for the logs, and @simulacrae is probably right it still isn't all decrypted - but you're probably better to check out this other thread if you're interested in the Adamaster and the search for it's sister ship. Unless they cross path with Raxxla, we should probably keep the thread somewhat on-topic. :sneaky:

Good summation here:

Don’t forget my FDev quotes thread, I try to keep it up to date but as I don’t listen to live-streams and hate twitch then I rely on others to tell me new quotable things! https://forums.frontier.co.uk/threads/fdev-ed-relevant-quotes-videos.553526/#post-8671776

About half way down:
DB video “ED has a story that "embraces all the players"
m.youtube.com/watch?v=gDh9G1gDgMU
he talks about invitation to join a secret organisation as being an event that happens at a certain point in a player’s progression/journey through the game.

Yes, we definitely wouldn't want to go off-topic. That never happens here. Maybe you should apply to be a moderator and then you could police it?

These are not the ships you are looking for!...Raxxla is in Cassiopeia! 🤡🤡
This is much farther than eight light years.

P.S. By the way, the dark wheel in the book in the Russian translation is called LIGA (Union, association of individuals, organizations, states.) for some reason. I don't know what it is in the original.

Sorry.
Has it already been considered that Raxxla is an abreviutra of the first letters of the name of something?
R....A....X....X....L....A....
(Really, I can't understand why there are only six letters instead of eight.)
