COMPLETED CG Fight for the Neo-Marlinist Order of Mudhrid against the Empire (Combat)

I think it's refreshing that a CG doesn't make T1.
First one in a long time I think...
I agree with you. For years a CG was almost guaranteed to be successful, many factions got stations with little effort as the reward was given with accomplishing tier 1 which was achievable with active 100-150 players. Also, the tiers were not skewed to favor the Imperial side, it was exactly the same for the railgun as for the missile rack, and the Imperial side did not only reached tier 1, but also tier 2 and are more than half away from tier 3, 24 hours more and maybe they would reach it.

So, the players spoke with actions, they didn't want to support the NMLA or get the missile rack and that's it and it's fine. I just hope FD will keep with this policy instead of changing the rules with the CGs already started. And it is not like I got anything from this, 48 million, what I made for massacre missions and 3 more imperial ranks are fine.

Sort of disappointed myself, have 2 accounts in top 10%... tho i abandoned the idea of getting the 3rd into it, too much effort for absolutely nothing.

Don't bother. During yesterday's supercruise news stream they've indicated that they're fully aware and won't change a thing. Less than a day left anyway. The decent thing they could do is give out the missile rack to the top 10% regardless, but I'm not holding my breath. I'm deeply disappointed with this one.
I actually watched that stream after reading your post, just to verify what information was presented. I think you might have misheard Bruce at 16:10, in which he states that you will get the Enzyme Missile Rack if you're in the top 10%, unless the NMOM manages to beat Epislon. And as there with 6 hours still currently left, this would be very surprising. However, if this did happen, the top 75% would get the enzyme rack. But yeah, this is what Bruce was stating. He explained the differences in combat bonds at present 5.4:1, and then goes on to state that the top 10% will get the Enzyme rack. This is good news my friends!

The whole tier 1 prerequisite appears to have been a minor oversight, or was simply not removed from the default template as to create a slightly more pressing sense of urgency for the other wise. The default template for issuing these CGs for these dual engineered modules may happen to have that the text "if tier 1 is reached", but this text doesn't necessarily apply to each event (its probably just annoying to alter the text, and well, programmers are lazy. This comes from personal experience. Things break in unexpected ways, you gotta fix them, etc etc.)

The miscommunication, if indeed it is one, is likely due to the monopoly of attention the Alpha is demanding at the moment. As the whole point of this CG was likely to get some of the people playing the Alpha to go back to the base game for a little while, in order to reduce overall stress on the server, it seems irrational that FDEV would punish players for taking the bait. The whole point of throwing a bone to the other side was the encourage competition and a lively PVP event to draw people back to the main game, it doesn't make any sense to take the bone away at the end!

Honestly, I can empathize with the situation if this is indeed what happened. And I'll be quite relieved when that sweet, but probably also mediocre, reward shows up. Man, I was playing this event in open, do you have any idea how many wings of 3-4 for I had to solo during this thing? It was nuts lol. I also fired my NPC pilot I had leveled up from novice, just to get more bonds for this thing. I better get that stupid rack.

I fired two elite crews coz they get their cut even if they're not on-board, free riders deserve to be fired
Just noticed yesterday that, even if they're fired, they still get their cut from previous universal cartographies.

It's just actually how code engineers think, "If it works, don't touch it".
The CIV6 quote is a lie :p "Normal people...believe that if it ain't broke, don't fix it. Engineers believe that if it ain't broke, it doesn't have enough features yet."

I suspect that, somehow, people will find a way to nag about this too.

I think people will wait and see if the CG operates like all other CGs, and the text in the CG states, and the community manager just forgot that it doesn’t take affect until it reaches Tier 1 because we haven’t had a CG not reach Tier 1 in...forever. But hey, maybe I’m just a cynic.

P.S.-He never said “the top 10% will get it even if you don’t reach Tier 1”...no matter what the poster was trying to make you believe.

Fellow Freedom Fighters! Our fight to land a blow against the corrupt Empire must suceed! Too many continue to belive the Empire propaganda and raise arms against those that fight to see them free from the boot of their oppressors.

We may have lost this fight, but it should never be considered that a victory and its spoils are an automatic right. This battle may be over, but the war continues!

We fight because it is right, the goal is honourable and the right for all to choose their own path and stand by their decision, is something worth fighting for.

Cmdr Dill Withit - ship last seen at MUDHRID CZ - lost but not forgotten.

(I enjoy this game and enjoyed the CG <O)

Even if the Independent systems were to retool our industries for total war tommorow, it'd take centuries for us to conventially mobilise to a point where we can deter the the Superpowers from colonialist expansion. All that has saved us up to this point is pressure from their rival Superpower. If the Independent ystems can use our industry to produce undetecatable enzyme bombs however, we can secure our future in mere years, through the detterance of mutually assured destruction.
I will continue to seek the bomb, for it represents true long term security for the Independent systems that has not been accessable any other way.

Accountants think if engineering doesn't break then it is too expensive.

Has anyone checked the Steel Majesty?
Or is it another FDev's can't be bothered to change the outcome text?
I assume without anything to turn in, there should be no "recompense" at all.

I'm there now and can't see anything on the mission board for CG's, in storage for the outfitting bay, or on my left hand panel. Not sure where else to look, but it seems like nothing's here. Also, reminder that I'm in the top 10%. Got my hopes up for a moment there

Remember the CG description: "The module will be placed in storage at the Steel Majesty in the Mudhrid system by Friday the 9th of April 3307." The module rewards never show up on Thursday, it's always Friday - so there's still hope. Fingers crossed :)

I'm pretty sure the info for this CG was:

If Tier 1 is reached, the top 10% of participants will receive a uniquely augmented class 2 rating B increased caustic damage and capacity enzyme missile rack.

We did not reach Tier 1 so we should not receive the reward; I'm not sure why people are 'talking hope', as if that will sway the Devs, when they know what the rules say?

Yes, and everyone knows that by now, including myself ;-) My reply concerned the current Galnet article stating that "rewards are ready for pickup at Steel Majesty". May mean something, may not (I suppose not, though it'd be neat for sure).

Ah ok, understood.

Always trying to be optimistic, I can't knock you for your hope - however, I think it may likely be more that the message is a regular message that is automatic due to the fact that Tier 1 is usually reached (the realist in me along with the rules at start of the thread). <O
