or, you know, don't worry about the credits and invest in the story being told?

I don't mind the story aspect but the payouts seem to be baffling lately. The amount of trigger time needed to really contribute seems at odds to the payouts of the events. They shouldn't be so high that people are flocking to it to get rich but then last time they paid people hundreds of millions to re-log at a fixed site.

I just don't get it.

maybe last weeks CG was set with ludicrous pay-outs so it wouldn't matter this time round
not every CG needs to be about the credit rewards, it's refreshing to have one that sticks the narrative above all else

its been mentioned a few times now how easy credits are to get, why not spend an hour or so gathering hundreds of millions and then enjoy the CG for the narrative

Guess the lesson here is to ignore future combat community goals, the pattern has been set.
XD
Bonds.
Money ftom massacres.
Materials for engineering.
Any impact on storyline.
FUN. This is my first CG, where I saw 10 players in 1 CZ, 5 imperials, and 5 feds, so especially for first 3-4 days I had the best possible CZ in game- CZ's with additional, living enemies, usually in pve ships, sometimes in pvp, once I saw troll with reverski orca, it was...quite interesing.
I don't think, that It was charity fight, from bonds and massacres I have 200m, but additional materials and fun from forcing federals to escape are much more precious. Especially second thing.
But yes, we should ignore combat CG, because rewards are low (I know, that here we talk only about CG, but with this logic we should ignore all no-meta ways).
Rewards aren't low, rewards are from other sources, so they need effort.
And aren't only money, so I guess, that majority of playebarse, obsessed on point of meaningless credits just can't see it.
Credits are now meaningless, if they are so important for you I can find system, which spawn a lot of "mining" mission, and share you 20 finished missions. 20 missions like "300 silver for 50m".
"better have, than not to have". That's why I'm not complain even on this "reward". Reward isn't issue. Main problem is fact, that bonds are harder to obtain than bounties, so they are lower. This is illogical. If X combat is harder than Y should pay better, but I have problem only with it. With proportions of this rewards.

PS: Money? Unique module, which is usually pointless? Free ship? Just give us Nova Imperium's decal! :D

It's the general idea. You don't comically reward massive exploiting just so you don't have to reward any actual skill the week after. It's plain absurd.

And absolutely FD. They have never been able to get any balancing even remotely close, as in the correct number of digits. EDO was a complete mess too. It doesn't bother me anymore; no FD Dev plays ED, they have no concept of how it actually plays beyond telemetrics and they will not get stuff like this right ever.

Even lower bonus than normal expect feds to give up now..
1.6 mill for 10%ers..

Yes the Feds only chance of a decent payout is to take their coats off and turn them inside out before putting them back on and fighting for the currently less morally questionable side the Empire.

Currently at 67 mill. Probably calling it a night, whilst I will keep on fighting the good fight for RP reasons (and making sure the Feds really don't catch up), this kind of CZ can get a bit tedious after a few days, although what's kept me properly involved is getting into some decent wing action, it makes the CZs all the more fun - assuming the server doesn't play up, which sadly it has been inclined to tonight.

I for one am happy that we get a break from must-have rewards in the current Community Goals (stores double-engineered KWS somewhere to make space).

This allows me to play in open. I've already eaten five 37Mcr rebuys (don't feel like I really deserve the credit flood from the data materials CGs) and spend now most time shuffling modules and visiting engineers : )

I use this CG to test and improve my latest Inertial Impact Burst Laser Corvette and also start using Shield Cell Banks. I feel it works nicely against enemy Captains (it was annoying me that I failed to get them down before they jump), Corvettes, Spec Ops, Heat Relays etc. and even not too poorly against small ship NPCs, because the stupid things joust.

But between the relatively thin skin of my ship and my skills I do not so well against commanders, especially if I forget something or make yet another stupid mistake : )

Well, to be fair it's not like most of the people in here are any better than fdev at predicting CGs. Well, apart from after the fact ;)
True, but we don't have player data trends like FDev does....
I think the consensus, by far, is that something just isn't right with this one.
That's ok, I can go unlock that SCB engineer instead heheh

The line is just after we found out about the low cash rewards. Note the lack of a Monday peak.

Is it due to low cash? Or because it's Monday? Or both? :)

I prefer RES based CGs because:

1) The final payout in CZ is always very low compared to RES/bounty CG
2) enemy ships take too long to kill (bullet sponges) in CZ
3) if you manage to kill them it means your ship is engineered (which means you had to spend additional time for that)
4) you constantly have to refill ammo (lasers only build not recommended in CZs because it takes even longer to destroy hull)
5) you have to get out and back in, every time a battle is won/lost on top of that
6) it's harder to team-up in CZs
7) easier to spot bad commander when playing in open when you are in a RES
8) I don't think it's safe to do CZs in Open anyway for most people

I do participate in CZ based CGs regardless but I just prefer RES based CGs. The incentive of the higher payout at the end makes me want participate more and I always end up doing more combat sorties per gaming session.
I just finished one CZ session. I played for an hour and 20ish minutes, destroyed 48 ships and made 11M. If you add massacre missions it's another 8 to 11M. Had to do 4 trips to repair and restock. In a RES you can do about the same amount per hour without having to do restock trips and/or hunt for the right massacre mission and/or having to fully align with faction for MM. I also feel it's more relaxed game play. But hey, to each their own. I know other commanders get bored in a RES. I guess it's good to have both options.
