I don’t think so. He isn’t fitting the pattern of CIG’s previous attempts at Astroturfing on this thread. Now, it could be that CIGs “community management” team is finally learning the value of subtlety, but then I look and Spectrum and.. well...

All CiG needs to do is to implement interactive ad spaces for third parties to rent, imagine going through the molasses-like gameplay near a space station with 5 people at 15 FPS and the boards run...

Yeah, its nothing like an x-wing.... more like a Thunderbolt from Babylon 5.
To be fair, by this point in history, if you draw any spaceship there is a good chance it will look like a spaceship from some other film/book/whatever.
On the other hand, we all know CR is a 2 bit hack who steals ideas from all over the place.

Thank goodness it is guns on the ends of the wings instead of engines.
Losing a gun kinda sucks, losing an engine usually really sucks.

I think it is still mostly an X-Wing. Not a Starfury nor anything else with a similar shape. Why? Because it looks like it was envisioned as an X-Wing and is presented in a way that makes it similar to X-Wing. In particular the one from the most recent trilogy. It even has these "engines" (whatever they are) that are part of the wings and the ridiculously placed guns at the wingtips. When looked at from the front, or slightly from the side, it is almost indistinguishable. And this is exactly the type of shot that is also most iconic for X-Wings.
It is the not-Millennium-Falcon MSR again. A play on a well known and loved sci-fi motif.
EDIT: even the turret is where the droid on an X-Wing would be placed. It is definitely though of as something that emanates the essence of what X-Wing is.

Yes CIG, please add more to the scope, please add more ships for sale.
The closer you place the manouvering thrusters to the center of the body the more thrust you will need to achieve a given effect.
It's heavily inspired by X wing.
I'm 99% sure the wings can close on each other.
In the description "With an adaptable bi-wing configuration..."
And when you look closely how the wings are attached to the ship, you see the cylinders (not sure of the word in english)
