Big Feedback Thread

My current setup:

Ryzen 3950x cpu
Asus X570 F mobo
2TB M.2 PCIe 4 SSD
64 GB of ram
RTX 3070
Reverb G2

(I would call it a decent, up to date gaming rig)

I get ok fps using VR LOW, but I can't imagine even upgrading to a RTX 3090 would give me usable performance in VR ULTRA.

Also, generally the new graphics suck. What were they thinking?

I just flew to Betelgeuse, which now lacks any form of prominences (VR ULTRA).

Switching to any camera outside the ship makes the ship invisible.

The new graphics crunches the darks, and burns out the brights. This when the new hot thingie is HDR. Horizon was more HDR than Odessey is. If the argument for this is "realism", then watching any star up close using the human eye would look like a white frame for a glimpse and then eternal darkness, so that's not very "realistic".

I'm not impressed.

You need to be given more time and warnings to submit to scan when on foot. Maybe a bigger text popup or a more prominent visual indicator. At present, it seems that they give you about 5 seconds before opening fire, which is ridiculous when you're not even holding a weapon.

My issues so far.......

Unable to see what engineering is on stored modules
Fitted modules show engineering, but not experimental effects; is my OC Multi corrosive or autoloader?
Pinned blueprints missing
If you click economical/fast in the galmap you can't turn them off, you can only toggle between them
If you want to do anything with bookmarks, you have to go into manage bookmarks, and then into a subfolder, rather than straight from the bookmark

As an example, if you want to plot to your home station....

Open map
Open bookmarks
Open Manage Bookmarks <- Why?
Open Stations
Select target station
Select 'plot route'
Close target station
Close stations
Close bookmarks
Finally, close galmap

In Horizons you opened the map, opened your bookmarks and selected 'plot' from the dropdown that appeared when you hovered over the station. So now you have 10 clicks instead of 4 o_O

Whaaat! Is plotting the route can get restricted to 20 LY now??? Should be careful with what I`m clicking on the GalMap...

No, it's not restricted, but if you click 'fast' you'll get a screen full of lines like this

In Horizons you could click 'Fast' again to hide the lines but in Odyssey you can't

It seems that New Engineers are not unlocking properly.

It do feels really jarring that suit/weapon upgrades are not being bought, but are given to you for materials and fulfilling of ridiculous conditions like 100 LY in Apex...
Cant we just be able to buy top of the line NightVision googles for 3.000.000 Credits, and be able to swap them with reinforced helmet on demand?

Has anyone actually unlocked Jude Navarro yet?

What about bindings? I've been searching the forum and haven't seen anything about that yet. Lost all my HOTAS bindings yesterday. Tried merging my old 3.0 with the new 4.0 ones without any luck, but this test was done pretty quickly. Should this be listed as an "issue" or is there a way to fix it?

Graphical issue with the rendering of Neutron stars, I think there's 8k threads on performance issues.
Also the jump settings (set to max + neutron jump) would reset every jump, had to go into Horizons to move my ship properly.

Oh, saw it in other threads too! Will link to them in a post if they come up again.

BAD: 21:9 support is crap. UI selectors are off centre, backgrounds misaligned (all highlighted in alpha).

Its small stuff certainly, but OCD makes it more annoying.

(Very) Good : new mission board classified by mission type is good.
Filter by faction is a good thing too, could need a reset button when you use one for several faction thought
Bad : Passenger mission no longer shows distance for whatever reason...

Good: Sense of scale is appreciable
Bad: Still absolutely no animation of any sort when entering/exiting a ship

Mild : FPS is ok, very basic but COULD get some fun.
(Very) Bad : Performance is subpar to the point of impeding aiming and gameplay on interior
(Very) Bad : UI quality has dropped and seems to be designed with controller in mind, desperately need a clock/counter clock move to be more...usable with keyboard/mouse

edit :
Bad : Game take a lot more time to boot

Go to options and check that it's using the correct binding.

Mine were messed up, but when I checked the options it was using a standard T-flight bind, rather than my custom one.

I’d like to add this here too:

Actually, it appears to have been fixed with today's hot-fix. My old bindings are back.
