Actually it depends on where the game is bought; many people here bought directly from Frontier and want to keep it that way. He mentioned Epic Games Store, which in my experience can be a slog sometimes. I'm on 300Mbit connection. Steam leads in download speeds that's for sure, but for Elite you need to create separate steam logins for each frontier account. And because they didn't give us save slots (a wise nickel-and-dime business decision apparently, because people bought up to 7 "alts" for them and family) you need a different email for each steam account to be linked with fdev account or something like that... IDK. It's a PITA.Well you said it's on their end, but doesn't seem like it
Yes, and on which servers FDev is routing through locally. Download times differed for same-spec machines in differrent locations on normal patches let alone this 50+GB monster. Boasting doesn't help solve the problem.Actually it depends on where the game is bought; many people here bought directly from Frontier and want to keep it that way. TL; DR: downloads vary depending on store ED is bought and the location of the client downloading.
Not from where I'm flying. I fly both PC and Xbox One X so I can see the difference; monitor has PBP. Quote must be true, "youth is wasted on the young"; never heard so much whining about what always happens, when in fact, once the initial implementation runs it's course no one will long for "the good old days" - mostly because the game, emphasis on game, is just plain better. And I did not want or need space legs per se; might be time to buy a new PC -- I'm going to, and probably before I get the new X Box Series X.Why are you praising this? It literally looks worse than Horizons did.
Conclusion? I think I'll play Odyssey, but stick to my ships (playing like Horizons) for the next few months until this thing settles down a bit.
Dont know how much you've actually played, but all the planets I've been to so far definitely have more detail and definition to them; so I dont buy that it's "literally" worse than Horizon. Why are you praising this? It literally looks worse than Horizons did.
Definitely, there is still work to be done. i landed on one yesterday that was SUPER shiny. like it was covered in nail polish lol. id also like to see more atmospheric effects as well. overall, i like it.Dont know how much you've actually played, but all the planets I've been to so far definitely have more detail and definition to them; so I dont buy that it's "literally" worse than Horizon.
