Are you surprised it so bad ??

It's odd though, I've had a few hours to play this afternoon and havent had one crash, and it's all been most enjoyable. Apart from the 7fps I had in a surface hangar lol.

With optimisation I think Odyssey will be great.
Seconded!!! It needs better performance, and better VR, but it definitely has potential :)
I should be surprised but I'm really not that the "Community Managers" on here are not in the thick of things, responding to people's fears, worries, complaints etc. One of them has posted like 9 times in a month on here. Really, what the actual.

CM's I feel kinda sorry for, I certainly wouldn't want to be in their skin now. Their job is purely PR, not fix the game or consoling distraught customers.

No, I'm tears-free ta :)

I just think it might be prudent for some kind of contact to be made on here to say "Yes, we know, we're sorting it" or "Nah, it's how it is". Chill people out a bit

As awkward as it might be to engage with angry customers, "engage with the community" is part of their job description.
Heh... I pre-ordered knowing full well it was gonna be a mess at launch. I came in with zero expectation, I played the alpha and thought it was meh. And even still I came out disapointed.
That shows the depths of the problems of Odyssey...

If it makes you all feel any better there was a community manager replying to a thread about how 3rd party apps aren't working right since Odyssey. Shows their priorities 🙄 it's the only response to this dumpster fire I've seen personally on the forum

Blame away. I enjoyed seeing the best icy moon vista I have ever witnessed today at lunch. I enjoyed taking on some skimmers at a weird installation I'd never seen before. I enjoyed my ship in much more impressive detail and reflectivity. It's a big mess so I'm working out what I can do while issues are sorted out. Some of it is far more fun than forum squalling. Although I squalled a bit too at some things.

Yep. I could not care less if you blame me.

Engage to what extent though? What difference does it make?

"Mah game's broken"

"I'm sorry about that, I'll let the devs know" giggles "NEXT"

All they need to do is read the forums and let the devs know they're on fire because of XYZ. Even a recognition of our feedback isn't really necessary, it's their biggest launch in a while, I'm sure they're keeping a very keen eye on the various social media channels including this one and will do what they're paid to do.

At least they are doing something, other than press releases and streams.
Fdev's MVP has a whole different meaning 🤣🤣🤣

Also love the name
It sometimes appearsthat despite beingbased in the hometown of one of the worlds best universities, they do not know what the VIABLE part of that term means...

Ever heard of hearts and minds?

Not at all.

Been warming myself by this dumpster fire since 2014.

Fdev are the king's of Minimum Viable Products.

Hmm. Guess i am kind of guilty here, too. I bought the lifetime pass before Horizon came out. It's only a few games where i bought that before, and never regretted it there. With ED, i also was very positive at that time. I so much loved the game. And i also now still love the base game. Flying a spaceship is just so satisfying here. I never cared for space legs or anything like that, just let me fly and i am happy. (Which includes: don't destroy my interface in an update! )

Little did i really know, what a mess they would already introduce with 2.1 and how badly the ride would get after that... and that's even before Odyssey and space legs. And honestly, if they just bring the space part of the interface in order again, i am mostly happy again. Which means, i am the lowest hanging fruit for FD at the moment. So please, go ahead and fix the base game.

Yeah I'm done. Last straw was trying one of the new on foot missions, getting back to my ship, checking the missions list in my on foot panel and in my ship to get the location only to find the list was empty (could only assume it wasn't selected correctly), then logging on tonight to find the mission failed and a fine. After failing to get online at all last night and countless restarts every time a loading screen freezes, I'm requesting a refund. Would be nice if game companies would learn to finish games before releasing them.
