But as a mechanic, that means it's doing what the Devs intend: taking any tedium out of supercruise.
I really isn't hard to avoid most interdictions if you are attentive.
I disagree. I feel it's making the tedium more protracted.
Not saying there shouldn't be interdictions, but I do tend to find them just another kind of yawn.
Hard no, annoying, yes.
It's generally faster to not avoid them. Just get interdicted and frameshift again. Hell, get interdicted and kill the authorities...still faster and than going out of the way to avoid the interdiction.
Are you one of those maniacs that fly into a space station 300 m/s on silent running with engines off and every time nearly kill a family of four on the station entrance?Hehehe...
There are three types that annoy me:
1). The ones that get you right as you exit hyperspace when there is very little you can do to avoid it.
2). Authority stop and scans in certain systems like Aulin where they are WAY too aggressive about it.
3). Non-authority stop and scans. I have restrained my trigger finger on these so far, but that's not going to last. Every time I let my guard down and one of these gets me, the urge to blow them out of space gets stronger.
Actual pirate interdictions are fun., and the authorities only bother me when they are way overaggressive.
When you were interdicted - did the other pilot have a bounty (were they wanted). As if not, you need to let them shoot first (then they get a bounty/wanted). Otherwise if you fire first at a "clean" vessel, you get the bounty! Hence the system authority vessels attacking you - as they saw you as the criminal.
They go red on your scanner if they are weapons hot.. but they don't get a bounty unless they actually hit you.
Without knowing if he hit you I couldn't say if it was a bug or not, as Hermit said above, there are a few bugs around that affect system authority response, might be one of those.
