Do we still expect to get the Odyssey patch roadmap on Friday? :)
More precisely a roadmap of fix and improvements leading to the autumn's full release

Hey Commanders! As we say, this is just the community content side of things for the week - the updates for you all on Odyssey will come formally separate. Excited to share more with you very soon.

When? Friday? Friday morning, Friday evening, earlier?
SoonTM and not answering these questions seems to be annoying a fair few people.

Are you on track to deliver something that you've promised is not a difficult question.

Very much looking forward to finding out what's going on wrt game development. Understandably there is often zero information on game development in any given week nowadays but this week is a rare situation where we have been told we will be getting some info. It is disappointing to not see this included in the schedule, and would very much like to see a return to focus on game development news with community creations as filler content.

What's even more annoying to a "fair few people" is the lack of civility some of folks seem to be taking up these past few weeks.

She very politely said "not my department." Job done. Let it go.

We've been told a roadmap will be released on 4 June. If you wake up on 5 June and there's no roadmap, have a whinge. Until then, pipe down, would ya?

"not my department."
I think community managers are supposed to generally work with the community and that I think includes mediating between community and the developers on at least the current very hot topics, not just showing cool screenshots and commander's creations on stream like nothing's happening.

This thread, specifically this post:

Is the first time I've seen a community manager state there is a formal separation. I guess many of the community have simply come to accept there is a separation because normally there is no news (on game development).

If this is 'not their department' they can perhaps take the feedback and escalate it to someone who is able to provide an update? Which Frontier employee posts these threads seems fairly arbitrary to me. I don't mind who provides the info, only that it is provided.

No one is acting like "nothing's happening." Every single stream, they begin by saying that they know people are having issues and that they are relaying those concerns.

But this week we have been told to expect something. I hope this helps you to understand the issue.

Hi both! As you know, David confirmed that "our plan is to publish a road-map by 4th June", of which we have no current reason to question differently.
The team are working hard to ensure all information we provide is accurate and to the requirements you deserve. The reason it's not squeezed into the 'Community Schedule' is that (as you know) this info here outlines everything we celebrate about community activity/creativity - a different branch of our week.

Odyssey update information/scheduling will have a formality all of their own (deservedly so). Very excited to share next steps this week, when we have them.

Forgive me for being a touch pedantic, but we haven't been told to expect something "this week." We've been told a roadmap will be published 4 June. I have no expectations, nor am I owed anything before then. I understand that people are upset, what I don't understand is the hostility and passive aggressive poking going on.

When you say 'as you know' I think you think it's common knowledge that there is a separation between community created news and FDev created news.

There is no separation other than the one you create, it is all 'community news'.

Thank you for taking the time to reply though :)

No problem at all, Riverside!
Sorry for any confusion - we try to be clear with popping the "Please bear in mind, this schedule is for purely community activity, and doesn't include any planned hotfixes / patches. You'll be hearing more about those soon" under the schedule image there, but of course with so many different platforms to message on it can get all in the mix at times I'm sure.
Have a super afternoon, please! o7

Unless you're being intentionally obtuse, I don't understand. There's clearly a delineation between external (community) news and internal (Frontier) news. 🤷‍♂️

What the community is getting up to (external) is demonstrably in a different pipeline than how the game is being developed/tweaked/patched/etc(internal).

Thank you for that small token but only you (Frontier) are creating that distinction, it is not one I share. As you may appreciate there have been many missed deadlines in the past and what are often described as 'broken promises' (not by me). I hope this helps you (Frontier) to understand the reason why 'the community' asks for updated timelines and confirmation that things are still on schedule. Because they are missing from the only schedule provided for the week.
