If you're having an overwhelmingly positive experience like I am possibly so as not to see the expansion get tanked and see no further upgrades? There's a time and a place for 'constructive' criticism but kill the game with it with it and it isn't so constructive after all is it? If on balance the expansion is much more good than bad, which I believe it is, then it's fair enough to say so no? Would that be OK with you? Then, when the future of the game doesn't depend on it as much (and this is first income to ED for six years, after Beyond which came for free after Horizons) give your constructive feedback, constructively?
I really don't see how you're actually having 'an overwhelmingly positive experience' with Odyssey, not because I'm a hater or mean, but this software is really that bad. You don't get the reaction that Odyssey has received (32% on Steam for example) and across the board panning from all the major YouTubers and reviewers without being a very ropey product in the first place.
Beyond came free because Horizons was a terrible launch as well and needed repairing, and so Beyond was intended as a QOL improvement that ED really needed, with improvments to the UI, rebalancing etc. Things that Odyssey completely went back on.
At this point, I really couldn't care less that FDEV is hurting as a company. They deliberately shafted their customers (and there's NO WAY that FDEV didn't know the state of Odyssey when it shipped). They shafted me with First Encounters in 1995 as well, a game that couldn't even install from the CDROM it came on. I gave them another chance in 2014 because I bloody LOVE this game. I've played Elite since 85, but if this is what Elite is in 2021, I'm done. I care more about this game than FDEV it would seem.
If ED whithers away, it's FDEV's fault. Not the community's. FDEV did this to themselves.
