I told you Frontier that dark road is getting narrower, you have lost faith in most players (probably all now) and ignoring the players concerns about how bad Odyssey is.

You don't respect us or even want to communicate with the player base YES this is Frontier at their best giving us the bird.

GET THE $ SIGNS OUT OF YOUR EYES AND FIX THIS MESS THEN GET OR TRUST BACK THEN WE MIGHT SPEND MONEY AGAIN.

I came back after a long break and was excited for odyssey as legs was the dream.

My system is getting old but it ran horizons no issues even with VR on a 980, 16gb ram & a 4670k. I work for a big PC hardware manufacturer in the UK and I have no chance in getting a high end GPU atm even from work which is pretty annoying as Odyssey does not like my system.

I dare not even try it in VR.

I did use to upgrade every 6 to 12 months but I got a family, got lazy and sick of blowing money as I play games a lot less but when you do it for a job you don't want to do it at home that's for sure.

So seeing full optimisation's on the road map will not be completed till console release/ a few months is very disappointing.

Your Welcome, and YES, I care about this Game.
I want it to be Great, and up to par with today's tech, and game design.
Otherwise it will crash and burn, with all of us left stranded, in the Void of Deleted Servers.

I actually expected more from the Rodmap than just fixes. What happens to the closed systems? From the beginning, systems in the Elite Universe are inaccessible. When will there finally be more story content? What is the background of the Thargoids. Notes on Raxxla? Even if the storytellers have left Frontier, the potential should finally be used. It would have been nice to find out something about this in the roadmap. Time Frontier you awake.

Fix all bugs as reported don't ignore them, read the posts on players concerns/issues give feedback show that you do care and have pride in your game and players for their patience, and most of all APLOGISE for the mess you gave us.

Dude - you seriously need to step back from the computer and take a deep breath. So much drama.

It's a game. It's not LIFE. They don't owe you an 'apology'. We all knew what to expect, as it's been more than a couple decades now that game companies release products with bugs. Don't act surprised or so offended.

The 'release now/fix later' method of launch that most companies have adopted continues to flourish because gamers keep lining up with their wallets in hand. Why would you, or anyone with any sort of sanity, expect it to be -different-? FDEV is still made of people who OBVIOUSLY care about their game - there have been hotfixes and major updates regularly since launch, and there will be more. 'Show us that you care' - dude, quit being blinded by hate. They OBVIOUSLY CARE. A lot of people make their livelihood from this game. People with families and bills just like you and me.

I came into Odyssey expecting the worst. I've seen some bugs. I've CTD'd more than before the launch. When I get frustrated, I take a break and try again later. What I HAVE been able to play, I've enjoyed a lot. But if I couldn't handle the bugs - I'd move on and check in sometime down the road. I recommend that you and the rest of the drama-queens in this thread do the same. Reporting bugs = good. Furious ranting/raving/threats/promises of doom are likely being ignored.

i swear, if property investors were as critical of getting their money's worth as the gamers here the 2008 sub prime mortgage meltdown would've never happened...

sometimes i feel hopeless when non-technical not-so-savvy noobs think programming advanced CG is done with a single click of the mouse... but then it gets compounded by how the slightly more technical internet savvy gamers cry and whine and complain about getting their money's worth for a game development update...

maybe it's because, in this forum, there's a long line of very technical pro gamers and modders who could probably take over the Fdev positions currently bottle-necking ED development... but then again, maybe not... so maybe buy some jogging shoes, go outside, work off the extra pounds yo... sheesh...

you complain like a princess who's had her dowry stolen by a band of thieves!

Hello Games realised their mistake with the abismal launch of NMS and changed their ways by initiating continual and open communicaction with their players. The result, developers at 'still little studio' Hello Games are now looked upon as God's and deservedly so.

Unfortunately, Frontier Developments are too big, have a huge number of investors, and couldn't give a damn if they spew-out an unfinished game... They will fix it in their own time, perhaps over 4 or 5 years.

What FDEV have done quickly though is ruin the game industry. Never again will players pre-order titles after the cash-grab abomination of Odyssey. This is not only a bad day for us all but also for all smaller games studios that rely on advanced payments to make ends meet.

Emotions runs high, however if you look at over a period of time it could turn in many ways, some as you predict and some in a more positive direction. CQC, PP and more was never a request nor was it informed as a part of the game, still it was produced and a considerable amount of time consumed on each function was dedicated to these gameplay mechanics.

FDEV was never good at communication, only back in 2012 when it all started the communication was close with the community. Nowadays not so much. I predict that when the dust settles the game will be fixed and things will return to normal, and when I say normal it’s not positive or negative, just as it was before all this mess happened. As long as they make a profit they will do as they always did, under the rug, and that’s it.

If you want influence you need to organize and start buying shares, but that’s a whole lot more than just $40 quid.

It's not only about making profit on this release. it's about making profit consistently over many years.
And after this Odyssey BETA, I will never buy FD game on release again (if there was to come anything else after Odyssey). And probably many others would rather wait.

No Drama here, just POed that the management has such a low regard of the Players.
Just tired of the ever growing ball of poop, they roll down the hill upon us, and expect us to take it.
Not only the unfixed bugs, but also the weight of Grind, Bottlenecks, clunky UI, Nerfs, lack of in game info,
and general disregard for making anything simple, or straight forward for the Players.
Seems like every time they add anything to the Game, it comes with more circle jerk, and loop de loop
Time Sinks, without any Balance in mind toward the Player, or his Time.
Hey, you work at FD, we Don't, so stop treating us like we do.
Just remember we are the Customers, and it's time to do your job, NO More Excuses.

What "grind"? Just use normal gameplay and the stuff will come anyway.

Not sure where this is coming from?! Did 2 missions earlier. Good performance (on a 5 year old machine) and great fun. Odyssey is so much better than Horizons. Sounds like you need to find another game.

You wrote one of the most self-contradicting, convoluted posts I've seen on these forums since 5/19/21.
Investors in the real-estate crisis? A princess and their dowry? What the actual eff? This isnt reddit, and you get no prize for writing ridiculously.

Do you understand the analysis of the rendering engine that has been provided by the rendering engineer? Im guessing you DONT understand that analysis, and that is why you (sarcastically??) describe the "long line of very technical pro gamers and modders who could probably take over the FDev positions" -- just before fat shaming people whose weight and lifestyle you don't even know?

Really, kudos on your achievement.
