Has anyone with the DIRECT client (i.e. not steam) has Orange Sidewinder issues?

In 4K - some improvements in / around station (60+ FPS where previously 50+) but still crashing down to around 35 in / looking at the "Social Space" - not quite as drastic on an outpost, so probably a slight inmprovement. Not been down to a settleement or CZ yet because of server tennis.So, anyone's got any performance impressions already? Any improvements noticable, if so, where and how much?
Hi Sally, just a quick thing that I discovered about the Orange sidewinder issue. It seems as if the Steam-download doesn't install Update 4. When verifying the game files in the elite launcher, it re-downloads the entire patch, ultimately installing it resulting in the game working again.Totally don't expect you to do anything about it - it's on us

I got the update after reloading steam earlier but this orange sidewinder issue seems specific to how steam and epic system route the traffic. Sally said they working on it, let process run its course, i'm merely pointing it out to them. In no rush to login.
Have no orange sidewinders while running it on direct launcher (can't receive a key to add it to my steam library anyways) but I am also not in Eroupe it could be region problem

Yep, I'm currently attempting to validate game files from within the ED launcher. Has been stuck on 'preparing for update' for over five minutes with zero progress.

Know what, a few of you have said this now and although it was a "hmmmm" let's see...no there's definitely something else, this may also be a contributing factor as you all say! There still looks like there might be something else contributing, which we're looking into regardless, but this is really helpful.
Sorry to the earlier commander I said "Naww it looks like something else" to. It DOES still look like something else isn't helping, BUT this could well be (and looks to be) a contributing factor too! Amazing work for helping look into it, everyone!

It was the same for me. After several minutes it did update though. Will be attempting to log in shortly and will report back with results.
Im going to do another validate check just to be certain what my other Cmdr colleague has positioned
