Big Elite Streamers Giving Up On Streaming Elite?

Except when the (D2EA) tutorial is says, "Need manufacturing instructions? Get from impact site and menu log. Get more from impact site. Menu log again". That's no better than combat logging imho, is cheating the game. No wonder you're not going to enjoy 'the game', YOU AINT PLAYING IT! I'd be asking for my terrarium back .. and banning the guy.

YouTube influencers are dangerous business. Weight in "passionate support" of things they have no genuine interest in, build their name on it, then change their partisan allegiance on a dime and persuade other people to do the same. I draw a real parallel with what happened to Star Wars too. Red Letter Media (one channel!) posted Mr Plinkett's Review of the prequels. However, not only did it inclide personal attacks on the guy who created the originals, which RLM considered so great the prequels were apparently not worthy, those personal attacks went viral. Next thing you know, Lucas sells to Disney and what do you get? JJ Abrams .. and space horses! Well done then and I've had similar nightmares .. McDonalds ads in the EDO concourses anyone? If tube influencers enjoy taking steaming dumps on critical releases, that might be what you get.

Not sure what you do about them except possibly bring your communications back in house, rather than giving these people sneak peeks that allow them to start attack narratives before anyone else can try it for themselves. Professional Media would tend to speak only about positives because either it's understood development is a process or they don't bite the hand that feeds them .. or maybe they're not just knee-jerk offs.
You are missing a huge point. People want to play certain aspects of this game. The hooners want to hoon. The explorers want to explore. The AX want to fight thargoids.

They don't want to spend hundreds of hours doing a mindless material grind.

The material grind 1) is not connected to the type of gameplay its used for, and 2) is a requirement of the game to enjoy the other parts of it.

People are not "not playing the game" by doing the relog trick to get materials.

They are trying expededite the worst part of this game to do the gameplay they actually enjoy.

You are defending terrible, unfun game design, that if changed would benefit everyone.

Actually, from the categories mentions, only one needs excessive grinding because the gameplay employed by them is grinding. Yes, that mean AXI
Katie was boasting that she's no1 on AXI grinds ranks having killed 1100 interceptors (out of which 164 hydras).
Which requires excessive amounts of materials for resynth.

The game was not designed to play exclusively a single activity, hence when doing only PVP people need to grind for it, same goes for AXI
Unlocking Engineers would be the first hint - they get you basically through most aspects of the game. And getting materials involves playing various parts of the game too.
Or grind them.
Personal choice, but one should not be complain about grinding when all they do in the game is grinding one small part of it.

People that enjoy the game in its entirety (or at least most of its aspects) do not need to grind anything.
If you do a bit of everything, you get all you need in terms of materials.
Or grind them when needed.
Choices, Choices.

you are so right!

ED should be a Sandbox not a Grind - as my man Kai Zen said recently ;)

FDev need to have more confidence that the FUN parts of their game would keep us playing - not feel the need to artificially extend playtime though boring and pointless grind activities

FDev: give AX CMDRs access to the BIG thargoid fights without fighitng your god damn RNG all the time and access to synth without mats and you will have a playerbase that would NEVER leave your game - and i'm sure this applies to other playstyles too - give the racers the ability to mark track waypoints etc or PVP pilots a means to engage in PVP without the grind

FDev need to reevaluate what the game is - because it cannot compete with SC - they need to open up the fun because what they 'want' ED to be just will never be good enough

Oh dude please, don't butcher chemistry.
Carbon monoxide is CO, while carbon dioxide (the "regular" one, which is less toxic, but not good by any mean) is CO2.

Can we be accurate in what we use ? CO is better than CO2, since it's the "light" version, and everyone knows that "light" is healthier.

Yeah, O2 is better than just O, too.

As someone who worked for a long time in the industrial gases industry, I just lost a sizeable part of my braincells 🤯

I * guess * you two are just joking, but still...

You play a very specific part of the game and only that part. And it's a really high performance part.
then complain about grinding.
The game, when played as a whole, is not as grindy as people imply.

The F1 cars gets rebuilt after every race. People are working hundreds of hours for a 2h race.
Same goes for athletes - they train hundreds of hours to be able to participate in high level competitions.
They have to grind a lot for their high performance runs

You know... 🤷‍♂️ just saying.

PS. It does not need to compete with SC.
Unfortunately, there is not a single game out there that can compete with ED, else i would be playing it.

haha well you can believe whatever you wanna believe of course - but in 6 motnhs time when noone is playing ED i'll gladly give you an intro course into SC ;)

The grind is dumb and not fun. My friend was enjoying this game, then he saw what he would have to do just to upgrade and he was out.

Why do you insist on keeping a grind in the game that is boring and unattached to the fun gameplay loops?

What does this mind numbing grind give you that if gone you would be missing out on?

Whilst I enjoy the comparison, as Katie practically is an Olympic bug-killer, the hours put in should be about developing the skill, not managing the grind. Having said that, this is a video game, not a real world event, and so it is freed from the restrictions of always making sense if the alternative is more fun. I think that gating AX so that newwinder pilots don't think it's for them is fine, because stumbling in would be miserable for most, but there's a lot of decisions in the design and pacing of ED that are pretty anti-fun. Things got a lot better after the economic rebalance though.

MMO
Career game
Character Progression

Obviously, ED is a niche game even in the above context, definitely not for everyone.
And if you keep mentioning the grind it only means one thing - you never played any of the old school mmos and you know nothing about the grind.

If i want a quick run, no strings attached, i start Fun Run 3 on my mobile phone. Chop some heads, roll over others and the likes. A race takes less than 2 minutes and it can be hilariously fun.

Well, AXI - as a whole - can militate for removing the resynths -at least for AX weapons and tone down a bit the high level thargs to compensate for that.
But i dont think they really want that.

haha oh dude, the 'i suffered though terrible game design so you should too' argument is so tired :p

and ultimately Fdev are losing this battle - like you can stay stubborn on this, awesome, but plugging the leaks on this boat will take new tihnking, and as we know the 'average ED player' is like 60 right? Forum dads :D

haha you gotta just play it dude - ED is a generation behind by comparison

honestly you can disagree i dont care , im having fun playing SC what else matters :ROFLMAO:
You have fun, Katie... That is the reason we play games (allegedly) 🥳

I find it funny that you suggest that in 6 months no-one (it is hyphenated, by the way) will be playing ED. (no-one being an inclusive, as you are aware, I'm sure ;))
