Don't play Odyssey? Don't preorder games? Wait until Odyssey improves? Provide constructive criticism? What would you recommend for those who are quite fond of the game, but think Odyssey is more trouble than it's worth?
It's amazing what the pandemic did to expand the gaming community.

Don't tell me to not tell you. Or something.Don't tell me what to do, and I won't tell you where to go
basically. I'd love to play the game more.BTW, I think people who are complaining about the state of the game (generally) don't hate it. They want FDev to work on it and fix the problems. Otherwise, they'd just move on.
I love the game. I hate the state it's at.
The problem is that with the introduction of Odyssey, things broke in Horizons as well. Unfortunately, this advice just doesn't work.Don't play Odyssey? [...] Wait until Odyssey improves?
There's a lot of it. There's very few acknowledgement from FDev to those. So, I understand when people get upset with the lack of dialogue and just go full on rant.Provide constructive criticism?
I don't have a problem with constructive criticism (and sometimes I even understand emotional criticism). Some people enjoy it when the game fails though, they are dreaming of doom since 7 years. They are the people who should just move on in my opinion.BTW, I think people who are complaining about the state of the game (generally) don't hate it. There did you what see I.
True, that's not related to Odyssey though, FDEV breaks their game with every update. It's a reason to be upset, but not to hate the game. If you hate the game, please just leave. The problem is that with the introduction of Odyssey, things broke in Horizons as well. Unfortunately, this advice just doesn't work.
Sure, not related to what I said though. There's a lot of it. There's very few acknowledgement from FDev to those. So, I understand when people get upset with the lack of dialogue and just go full on rant.

If they're anything like me, they're gone.If you hate the game, please just leave.
People that hate this game are already gone, I think. The most critical posts I see are from people that want this game to work, to deliver what was promised, to be stable and to be fun.FDEV breaks their game with every update. Again, that's not what I was talking about, but thanks for the discussion. I don't have a problem with people being negative about something they like. In the end they just want it to be better. If they're anything like me, they're gone.
I lost my love for The Division 2. I just quit cold turkey. Left forums, reddit, Discords untouched. No goodbye posts, nothing.
I think I actually dropped by /r/thedivision a couple of times to look at the state of the game, but that was it.
Incidentally, the game sat on my hard drive for about a year until I actually needed the space and uninstalled it.
Lastly, this is a forum. There will be all kinds of players here discussing things. It's a forum.
If everyone was circlejerking how good the game is, it would be as boring as it gets.
Even in golden times, people come to the forums to ask for small QoL changes, or demand long standings bugs to be fixed.
If you currently see more negative posts here, it's a reflection of the state of the game.
Just like Steam player numbers and negative reviews (but again, those don't count,).
Trust me, you are wrong. Some people just come here to point and laugh. They repeatedly claim the game is doomed since 2014 and every time they are proven wrong it just makes them more bitter.People that hate this game are already gone, I think. The most critical posts I see are from people that want this game to work, to deliver what was promised, to be stable and to be fun.
Though, what we see is quite the contrary. Every update solves some problems and adds new ones. I played EDO almost every day since release and the current state of the game is worse than before. All my preferred game "loops" are broken. And not a single word from FDev so far.
But they are playing, as long as it's registered they "tried" to play then it won't affect FDEVs share priceSteam reviews are getting worse: 77 % of the reviews in the last 30 days were negative. Player numbers drop accordingly:
