Indeed, a lot of things change as other places adopt them. You do know that the "Indian" curries you find in England would never be eaten in India. It's English food dressed up as from somewhere else.

As an aside, shouldn't the show be called 'Dr Who?'Well you don't have to go far: Fawlty Towers, anything from the Monty Python crew, Little Britain, Dr Who! Of all the stupid things, putting warnings on Dr Who?
Why would I want to eat Chain?Dunno how it works in old Blighty, but over here if you want the good stuff, all you have to do is to find a hole-in-the-wall restaurant run by a couple of people from the old country.
Just stay away from the chain restaurants.
You seriously need to be canceled, my man! Give me a moment while I rouse up my 14,000 random strangers who follow me on Twitter! You'll be sorry, sir, very sorry indeed! Can't talk about bronze... Appropriation of half of Essex!
What I find funny is people now getting angry about others taking ideas from other cultures and using them in new ways. Its the very reverse of how thriving cultures work, by denying 'purity' of who can do it or what they use.Dunno how it works in old Blighty, but over here if you want the good stuff, all you have to do is to find a hole-in-the-wall restaurant run by a couple of people from the old country.

Indeed. On so many levels. I went to an "Olive Garden" once (the official "Italian food" chain over here) and, having actually eaten Italian food, decided to never go back again. It wasn't bad, it just wasn't Italian. Why would I want to eat Chain?

This has long* troubled my inner pedant!
* well.... for nearly 2.6 seconds...
Not to mention: What could possibly be MORE tolerant than discovering something from another culture, deciding that it's better than what you have, and then adopting it?What I find funny is people now getting angry about others taking ideas from other cultures and using them in new ways. Ok. True story time...."Irony" does NOT mean "kinda like iron".

Pretty much. Its also quite alarming in a world thats getting smaller and more global you have people marching about saying "you can't wear / do that" *Not to mention: What could possibly be MORE tolerant than discovering something from another culture, deciding that it's better than what you have, and then adopting it?
Isn't that how most of the English language came about?
Extremes are always unhealthy, no matter what or whom. Nothing new. People bottom tight about others "appropriating someone culture" are the same kind than the one being scared their culture is going to disappear because people are adopting other people's culture. What I find funny is people now getting angry about others taking ideas from other cultures and using them in new ways. Best to avoid brassy.I thought it was a bit like goldy, or bronzy...
As an aside: Being more than 20 years old and having read quite a few actual books, rather than random brain flatulence on Twitter, it seems to me that this whole "cultural purity" thing has been tried before.by denying 'purity' of who can do it or what they use.
Hey, What's Old Duck doing with her there?!?!Doctor Who ?

Take Kumo Burger. It does not discriminate, is gender neutral and is good for the environment- is like a 3300s PETA, WWF and Greenpeace brought together with McDonalds.Extremes are always unhealthy, no matter what or whom.
What did you say ? That sound like Heresy !As an aside: Being more than 20 years old and having read quite a few actual books, rather than random brain flatulence on Twitter, it seems to me that this whole "cultural purity" thing has been tried before.
And it didn't end well for anybody.
Worked well in Activia yogurt though. Thats cultural purity I can shove my face into.As an aside: Being more than 20 years old and having read quite a few actual books, rather than random brain flatulence on Twitter, it seems to me that this whole "cultural purity" thing has been tried before.
