I hope it doesn’t inspire a bookReally enjoyed Drew's first and recent 2+ hour stream on No Man's Sky. It's actually really refreshing to see my usual youtube peeps branch out into something different.
I had a rat called Shevek. He was a reluctant leader in an anarchic rat colony who kept trying to get into the next room, so it turned out to be a good name choice.I hope it doesn’t inspire a book![]()

The issue isn't simply one of money (although that has a knock-on effect) but rather lost reputation & consumer confidence. That's what they need to "save".
I mean, I've bought every game FDev have ever made. That won't happen again... my wallet is firmly shut to them now. Shame, because I like F1, dinosaurs and Warhammer, but, oh well.
How many others are feeling the same?
My perception and guess is... quite a few.

Her channel is awesome, I've really been enjoying it, I highly recommend it in fact.Best ignore her, she is only here to plug her channel. Its all a bit shameless, but I guess thats part of the trade.![]()
Come back to me next year, when you realize what most of us, and her, already know. Her channel is awesome, I've really been enjoying it, I highly recommend it in fact.
You need to buy a Javelin to understand the true depth the game can offerThe total failure of EDO is one of the best things that's happened to me because it made me buy Star Citizen, I've been having a blast, exploring the verse which at the moment is an inch wide but a mile deep. There is so much to do, it ticks every box for me and runs better than Odyssey on my PC. I've totally bought in to the vision of Cloud Imperium Games, it's breathtakingly interesting, innovative and beautiful.
If you have true faith you'd buy an Idris. You need to buy a Javelin to understand the true depth the game can offer![]()
3000 dollars and I can provide a jpg of a python, if you are interestedIf you have true faith you'd buy an Idris.
Does it have limited lifetime insurance and the promise of nonexistent gameplay loops in nonexistent systems requiring nonexistent netcode?3000 dollars and I can provide a jpg of a python, if you are interested![]()
The “verse” relates to 10 years of development and 350 million dollars, in “elite” terms it looks like a system.Everyone talks about the "verse" here. What is that supposed to be, a derivative or association to "universe"? If that is the case, couldn't it be a little bigger? For a single system, really?
It's the core of Star Citizen. Invent a derivative term to hide the disappointing reality.Everyone talks about the "verse" here. What is that supposed to be, a derivative or association to "universe"? If that is the case, couldn't it be a little bigger? For a single system, really?
I enjoyed Drew's first book, and the things I didn't like about his second book were not his fault.I hope it doesn’t inspire a book![]()
It's probably over half a billion now since that pledge number doesn't count the nearly $100M investment from Calder, subscription revenue, advertising revenue, and the money English taxpayers handed them yearly as an apology for having to work in England. The “verse” relates to 10 years of development and 350 million dollars, in “elite” terms it looks like a system.
Do you think you could get all the exploration done by Tuesday as I’m getting a haircut?I think with Star Citizen you have to look at how it is now and not what it was or might be in the future. Because, let's face it, you're not going to know if RSI/CIG are going to get anywhere close to what they promise. They've done good and bad things.
I've played it a wee bit over the past couple of weeks, and I have to say, it's not half bad. It's a lot more immersive than E: D, especially if you add Odyssey into the mix. The ship to foot to surface is damn near perfect. Gameplay wise, a lot of the basic gameplay loops are there, and you can generally find stuff to do.
Yep, only one system, but it's quite a big system, and there's a lot in it. I'm not done exploring it yet. Also, having everyone together in the same place can lead to a lot of fun emergent gameplay.
Still, for me, if you were looking for something as an alternative to E: D, I wouldn't recommend it. There's just not enough there yet, but what is there is very, very good IMO.
Except there is no bgs, the flight model is terrible, ship customization is far worse, there are no aliens, only a handful of planets, even Sol in ED had literally an order of magnitude more mission types, gameplay loops are hidden behind $200 ships, zero VR support, both ship & legs AI is worse than a shovelware €2,99 Steam offer, fundamental techs required for sold gameplay loops aren't remotely on the horizon and literally and so forth.I think with Star Citizen you have to look at how it is now and not what it was or might be in the future. Because, let's face it, you're not going to know if RSI/CIG are going to get anywhere close to what they promise. They've done good and bad things.
