I'm sorry I couldn't give it to you sooner

Well, how about a next clue for how to find Raxxla and/or The Dark Wheel station ?
Question, can it be found by just exploring or is it a quest and Raxxla have to be unlocked ?
Ever heard of the Holy Grail. That's Raxxla. No hints - ever.
VIRTUAL REALITY
Agreed, fix the missing bit of VR, give us proper 3D mouselook on foot. At least pause the HMD and switch to full screen on the monitor if we remove our headsets (Egosoft did it for XRebirthVR) as the flat screen grey surround is objectively awful.
Braben wheeled out of the broom cupboard for the third time to keep the community in check over the state of Odyssey.
Yea, but at least you know the company is seeing the seriousness of the issues when he's brought out.
Elite is in a bad way - and much as I want to see it succeed - there are limits.

Please, take this seriously.
Doubleplusgood.
I've been taking a break and playing other games while awaiting Odyssey.
Same here (Evochron Legacy SE - shameless plug).
Who said I am frustraded??? I love the game even with its flaws. Keep up the good work guys and thank you for the great game!
Yea the 20% (guestimate) who's systems it plays well on, and who aren't slamming into bugs or invisible rocks probably aren't frustrated, but the 80% of consumers who paid for a functioning game, after three months and barely any noticeable improvements, are. Of those 80% are the YouTube free advertisers and many, many Steam players leaving scathing reviews (plus let's not forget our Console brothers and sisters who have no idea when it might be released).
So yea, happy you're not being inconvenienced playing an alpha release, but many are.
Well you don't speak for everyone. And no everyone is asking for a refund.
But enough are that it should be taken seriously and no one speaks for anyone when they say we, it's just an English shortcut for meaning many of us, as you well know. We are Legion!
So it more or less confirms the suspicion that EDO is following the season pass structure where more content will be released over time?
No, it confirms much content was cut to shove it out of the door, so they're going to put that cut content back in over time.

It doesn't confirm that at all. It's very likely that stuff was cut, happens all the time during game development.

Most likely though it's a mixture of cut content because they didn't have the time and stuff they were planning to add afterwards anyway.

1st off don't take this the wrong way, I have made exactly that kind of assumption in the.past so it's not a dig but this thinking with ED it almost invariably leads to disappointment.

Sure the extra content could be something big like interiors or VR which would then make the "not at launch" statement come true, or maybe even a few new ships or SRVs.

But it could equally be new purchasable cosmetics or galnet stories and stuff like that as well as twiddling earning rates etc

I have finally come to the conclusion better to expect little and hopefully be pleasantly surprised.
Personally I am expecting bug fixes , some thargoid new content and performance increases and hoping that does not include visual downgrades.
I hope for visuals closer to the reveal (have you seen the side by side comparison of the 1st ED:O reveal compared to what is in game on the actual planet?). I give that 50:50 at best of happening.

As for console release..... I hope it still comes possibly on PS5/series X. But someone said months ago they thought it would never come to ps4/Xbox 1
At the time I told them to stop spreading fud but after seeing how it runs on semi decent pcs I think they may prove me wrong.

I play Elite Dangerous on all platforms and while I'm sad to hear that the console experience is getting delayed, I'm glad to hear from @David Braben that Frontier isn't giving up!

I'm still a big big fan of Frontier despite the big steps backward and hope they know many of us are still rooting for them to rise out of Odyssey ashes like Hello Games has with No Man's Sky.

To me the commitment to fixing performance and bugs is great, but what will be even better is seeing long needed enhancements and fixes to core space game down the line. Odyssey is nice, but right now, it doesn't feel core to the game to me.

I'm pretty sure your goal is milking money from this franchise while our goal is getting our money's worth out of this and this has been overwhelmingly clear for the last six years
& I can honestly say that I'v enjoyed playing ED over the last 6 1/2 years & have QUITE CLEARLY got more than my money's worth out of it over the years......job done!(y)

I can't think of ONE other game I've EVER purchased since the late '70's that Iv still been playing 6 years later.

Yes, Odyssey is only a DLC & been released nearly two months ago, but Iv not loaded the Horizons version since......despite all the bugs & issues, which can be frustrating at times.

Thanks David & the team, hope the issues can quickly be resolved:)

I would be happy but I ain't. They knew from the start the state of the game. Should I remember the lies regarding what happenes after Alpha? And how they have a better build for 17th of May?

Words and more nice polished words while the game is literally unplayable some times.

I wish you could just have left the game alone, at least it was working before. Now I can barely wing and play with someone.

Words are cheap, you will be judged on your actions.

If Devs aren't given the time to do their job properly before a product is released to the public as a full experience the management is responsible and the dev moral will drop like a stone.

Now as for the health of Elite Dangerous as a game, it needs to be re-worked from the ground up.

Let corporation standings have more meaning. - Reduce their number by at least 80% and spread those that are left around the bubble. Make corporations that CMDR's work for more identifiable, even with an 80% reduction they will still number in their hundreds, but across the bubble this will be fine. Also player corporations should remain unchanged. Perhaps they should have more meaningful impact on the bubble economy?

Engineers. The iteration was nice, but they are still flawed in what they can produce, which I believe comes down to the lack of module choice in the first place. There is no real meta when it comes to ship fitting as there's generally only two options - short range or long range.

Also.

The classic feature which screams Lazy Game Design, is artificially extending the rate of player progress by including the Grind. Yes all games to an extent have Grind, but the sweet taste of gameplay hides the salty sourness that is a repetitive process. There's a number of ways to "remove grind" including more story driven paths to attain Faction Ranks - yes use the existing missions, they work are tested and will only need a re-write or three. End the possibility of Postal Couriers becoming Supreme Overlord of the Galaxy because it doesn't make sense and is Lazy Game Design.

And Finally.

Why are there still multiple game play modes? End Solo, just do away with it, we can all use Private Groups, even in a group of One. It does more harm than good on a psychological level at this point in the long history of the game. Even the Private Groups encourage the mindset that it is fun to play with others. As for Open this should be the default method, perhaps the only way to increase faction rank?

Question -
Does FDEV regret the early decisions made in using peer to peer networking for their massively multiplayer game?

But if they'd have LEFT THE GAME ALONE, we'd still be at version 1.0.
Frontier "Game's running good so leave it, no development in case we break something"..........REALLY?

Sure, that's exactly the point of a PR stunt. It doesn't mean they're going to fix things, though. They've known things are a total mess since alpha, they haven't delivered on what they said would happen. They literally told us the live build wouldn't have the rendering and planet tech issues that were in alpha - that were no different when the game launched. Wheeling Braben out just means they're desperate to keep the community on side after they repeatedly and brazenly lied to us about the state of the game.

My bet is they held stuff back so that
1. Console fomo wouldn't be so steep,
2. They get to tell us two months in that they have more content for us while the roof is burning on the game.
