State of the Game

I have a lot of other games that I can play in the meantime, at the moment I am playing Observer and i seems like that our former Elite group is setting up a new 7days2die server on this weekend. We give Odyssey a new try later this year, the rent for the fleet carrier is payed until then
Each to their own, I guess. I bought ED when EDH was about a year old, basically to enjoy some planetary action. Now I found, that the game play I've wished for is actually not in Elite but in NMS - I'm not even sure anymore, if I want to buy EDO at all - what is there in EDO what I cannot do better in NMS?- nothing really. It's sad, but I have to accept it.

NMS just didn't appeal with the cartoony graphics, whereas I always found EDH visually bang on for my taste - but it does sound like NMS has undergone a revolution of improvement, and I think now fully VR compatible so maybe it's time to give it a try whilst I wait for Odissee (sorry, couldn't help it... 🤣) to be sorted out.

I just love the gritty 'realism' of EDH though...

Hey, that's fair. I'm glad that you're enjoying yourself, that's what gaming is all about and we're all gamers, no? And I certainly don't have an issue with anybody pointing out the things in my personal favorite game that they find lacking.

My thing with ED vs. "the other games" is that none of them scratch my particular itch, which is flying around pretending to be a space jock in a universe that I can at least pretend is like the one I live in, doing stuff that I can pretend might be possible in the future. But hey, it is what it is. Horses for courses, as my British cousins like to say, if I understand it correctly. To me it's "whatever floats your boat." :)

But this is getting awfully off topic, so meet Albert, the nanacat:

Ah, the Amazonian Frogananamog - don't see many of those outside of captivity... 👍
